02 7.3 cold high idle every 2 minutes

I know my diesel is suppose to high idle when cold but even if i drive an hour to work then sit and have my coffee the idle picks up about every 2 minutes and I just hit the brake to knock it down then this will keep going on.Is this normal

Yep, that's normal.

Thanks for your reply.I just don't remember it doing that when I bought it almost 8 yrs ago.
