i wouldnt say mileage would be any different. i have a dually and i can get 16mpg at speeds below 70. after 70 the mpgs go down fast. i got 14.5 headed west on i-80 at 72 mph, heading to colorado for an elk trip in sept. the only e99 parts on my motor are the turbo, intake manifolds and idm. i...- zpd307

12/98 is supposed to be the cutoff for the engine. 3/99 is the cutoff for the suspension. look at you intake spider, if you have the aih, air intake heater, you have a late 99 motor. the aih screws in and had a wire connected to it.- zpd307

you are experiencing what i had to go through during the winters i had my 90. it seemed when it got below 10 degrees. it would not start, even with ether. i checked the fuel in the filter and it was cloudy. i figured out that if i changed out the filter, which i filled with atf, it would start...- zpd307

First good cold start of the year
31 isnt a cold start..... :D my 90 would start all day long until it got below 10. then it turned into a circus. with winter coming again, i am not going to miss it.- zpd307

you shouldnt have to do anything except cranking. opening the filter housing would speed up the process. i was going to say just turn the key to on a couple of times but then i remembered yours has a mechanical pump....- zpd307
