Well as luck would have it I spun a rob bearing in Ford. I would much rather see this truck go to someone who knows what it is rather than sell it to someone who just wants a cheap truck to beat up and let get all rusty. Its a 1985 Ford F-250 4x4 extended cab.
Here is what the truck has:
6.9...
I was driving home from work yesterday and when I went to turn on my road the oil pressure light dropped to just above nothing at idle and i could here some bad engine noise, maybe a really loud valve or a rod or main bearing, sounded like the upper end but really loud. I shut it of as I coasted...
can I use bar stop leak without flushing the cooling system? The radiator is very scaly. If the bars stop leak works, will ceramic coding ceal it pretty permenatly?
Does the blower motor plastic case have to be removed to do the valve cover gaskets? I was barely able to get an open ending wrench on the far back bolt on the cover below the blower motor case. But I'm not sure if I can get a bolt back in there if I were to do the gaskets? What do people here...
What are people using to make a road draft tube? Specifically where the tube enters the valley pan grommet? Will water enter the tube if you go through extremely deep water?
What is the purpose of the linkage that goes from the IP to the tranny (C-6)? I'm just curious, its long gone and I duobt I'll put it back on, the truck seems to shift fine without it. But what was it there for in the first place?
When I turn on my heater in the morning I notice a fairly significant voltage drop when I turn on the blower motor. Under 12V when at idle, new alternator, new batteries, with the blower motor off voltage is fine. Or driving with the blower motor on its about 12.5 volts. Doesn't seems to blow as...
Has anyone tried the Summit fuel pump that looks like a knock of Holley? I was also wondering would it make more sense to get a fuel pump with an external regulator then the regulator could be mounted right before the fuel filter? Seems like with a regulator and pump combined there might be some...
So I found out today that in winter there will be nowhere to plug my truck into heat it up before starting. I know its early but I want to get it figured out before its freezing cold and I'm starting my truck with a can of ether everyday when I leave. I have heard of some city busses that start...
So I'm hoping its just the cheap pump I used causing surging when running on WMO. I went for the first drive yesterday on WMO (it is actually clean oil from un openned containers I found in a barn that was just really old and I had no other use for, so there's nothing in it to clog the filter)...
I have a 1/3 hp 110V electric motor that I want to find a pump to hook to to pump WMO. I have seen Redlines pump and was wondering if anyone knows where to get a pump like that. The motor I have is almost identical. Or any good pump that can be hooked to an electric motor.
I've been looking at replacing my cheap fuel pump for a Holley Red or a Carter Marine pump from Summit. The Holley is at 7 psi which I know is good but the Carter comes in either 6 or 8 psi version, which would be better, the 8 psi?
What have more people been using with WMO or WVO?
What works better for thinning WMO, diesel, or kerosene? A lot of people seem to be using kerosene? Why?
On the post 100% WMO there was a guy mentioned from Iceland who was running 100% WMO and blending 10% premium unleaded so it would start fine. Is this a bad idea, or should it work?
Someone on here talked about a mechanical piston style pump that was much more durable than the old diaphram pump. I was wondering where they got this and how much it was. I figure a pump like that would be a lot better for running WMO, or is a high quality electric pump the best?
I found about 2 gallons of un-openned oil in an old barn. It was from whenever Penzoil put its oil in cans. As well as some Johnson 2-stroke outboard oil, and some 85-90 gear oil, a gallon of hydraulic fluid, and 2 gallons of SAE 30. All un-openned. So I figured they were good fuel. But when I...
A friend of mine gave me some WMO which I already filtered and poured in my tank, then he told me he remembered pouring about a pint of DOT 3 brake fluid in with the oil, is this going to mess anything up when its mixed in with 20 gallons of diesel, WMO, WATF?
A few weeks ago I was hauling 3 motorcycles from Albuquerque to Michigan and my radiator is pretty corroded internally. Most of the day through New Mexico and Kansas it was around 95-100 degrees and the truck was running at around 230 degrees, occasionally crept up to 235, was that safe for the...
Someone at my friends work put 5 gallons on unleaded gas in the tank of one of their trucks, mixed with 30 gallons of diesel. They pumped it out and don't know what to do with it. I was wondering if it would be safe to run in my IDI if I blend in some WMO, or maybe like a quart of fresh gear oil...
So my 6.9 is leaking coolant into the glow plug area on the 3rd cylinder back on the drivers side. It, thank god, appears to be coming from the intake manifold, at first I thought it was the head gasket going. But after checking it over more there is no signs of a head gasket leak. No white...
Does the IP need to come off to replace the cylinder head gasket? The other day it started leaking anti freeze, after going to the car wash, and filling one of the glow plug areas with anti-freeze, I can't figure out where the anti freeze is coming from other than possibly pushing it up past the...
Whenever I tow a trailer the 15 amp fuse for the turn signals burns out. Otherwise all the rear lights worl like they should? Is a 15 amp the right rating for the turn signals? Would it be safe to try a 20 amp fuse?
Damn, I had a feeling that was the case. My girlfriend got her car stuck in the driveway on the way to her ultrasound, we had a huge storm the night before, and she was freaking out, and pregnant. The Ford wasn't plugged in since I didn't plan on driving it that day. But with her freaking out...
