Hello every one I am in the market for a good 12valve and need help finding a good online classified ad. If you can point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Thanks and good luck to all.
I am not a cummins guy but hey I think my opinion is sound. The guages are your choice but remember that cheap guages are just that, Cheap. If you go manual then the NV4500 is the best bet. It came in trucks behind a cummins and has overdrive. In your year the NV400 came in your truck but be...
If you have leaves up front which I am assuming then check the holes for the guide pins on the leaf packs. The are the lower side of the bolts that hold the packs together. I have had those hole wallow out and not matter how tight the U-bolts were the axle shook. You may also check the tire...
You can chrome plastic but it looks wierd. The 92-94 grilles were chrome plated plastic. It possible and can you guys point me to the link about the intercoolers. Cant seem to find it.
You are absolutly right. But they only say that to protect them from batches of bad bio. And yes if you get caught with 100% bio in the tank say good bye to the warranty. Otherwise a 6.0 will run just fine on 100% bio as long as it is high quality.
Look under your air filter lid and you will find the soup bowl. When you see it you will understand. PS a stock powerstroke is and equal to a turbo IDI so save yourself the trouble and just turbo the IDI. Besides IDIs sound cooler.
Is there a good place to get a stack for my exhaust on the truck. The last one I built was just a pain and this time money trumps work. Any idea would be nice and thanks agian for the help.
I have heard of many people getting away with 100% bio. The only problem wash poorly made bio and filter cloging. Otherwise you should be safe and remember the cheap stuff is just that Cheap.
Hello guys yes I know I have an IDI but I still respect you guys. Anywy does any one out there know what it take to manually control the turbo pitch on the 6.0? I ask because I want to use one in a strange swap and need to overide the ford computer control on them. Any help would be great and...
Faster spool up due to less drag but in the end you are still hurting the turbos output. With less air to push the turbo is going to move faster. With the right sized turbo in the IDI it should not be a problem. I guess it would work but still you are handicapping the turbo to a point.
You know a shinny exhaust turbine housing will help lower EGTs. Not much but the better flow and less turbulance will cool things off a bit. Just remember that a turbo needs a specific clearance between the turbine and housing. If you open that up to much you will loose performance.
To be honest you should really go with the straight axle. But if not remember that Moog is like OEM and Norris is almost as good. If you can find the axle then the swap would be easy.
I think that a flat may also be a little to much. If you like the way it runs then you should leave it the way it is. I just would like to point out that a little more power is to be had thats all.
First things first lay some string into the pulleys to make sure they are aligned. When belts shred it is usually because misalignment caused the belt to roll over onto its back. If you hold some string tight on the pulleys you should be able to see it. If not then try carquest, they have any...
In stock trim no smoke is some what normal. To me I worried when my truck would not smoke because these old IDI's are supposed to. Its no big deal if they don't but you are not getting enough fuel and loosing some power. I did notice that after I turned up my fuel pump and started seeing a...
