    Possible Injection Pump Issue?

Yes. Did the ATF and diesel kleen mix in the fuel filter, ran it for a couple minutes then let her soak (twice). No change. I'll keep running her for the time being. She ain't perfect but she runs. I'm waiting on a R&D pump and injectors. Going to cost a few shekels. Of course work is slow and...

    Possible Injection Pump Issue?

Thanks for the references. No luck with the penetrating oil as far as making any noticeable difference with my issue. Looks like a new pump is in my future. Going to keep running it for now while trying to hold out for a R&D pump & injectors. Thanks again for the responses.

    Possible Injection Pump Issue?

I'm going to try the penetrating oil on all external moving parts for sure. I know when the engine isn't running throttle operation at the pump itself feels normal and consistent. If the penetrating oil doesn't produce any improvements I'll start looking a little harder for a decent reman pump...

    Possible Injection Pump Issue?

Lubed and checked cable to pedal. Smooth consistent pressure as long as rpm's are below 2k rpm's. At that rpm or higher the pedal resistance increases noticeably. Once rpm's fall below 2k resistance goes back to normal. I can also feel this resistance when operating the throttle by hand at the...

    Possible Injection Pump Issue?

1989 F-250 / 5Spd w 148k miles. When the rpms are 2k or above and I let completely off the accelerator pedal it is hard (stiff) when trying to get back on the throttle. There seems to be excessive resistance at the point of initial throttle input. This issue goes away when the rpms drop below...

Electric Fuel Pump Setup - Is this no good?

Got it. I guess at the moment I won't worry about too much (have other things to straighten out on this rig). I'm a worry wort and always fear the worst, lol. Thanks for the input and replies.

Electric Fuel Pump Setup - Is this no good?

So is this different than an actual electric fuel pump? I'm not familiar with these pumps or much with these trucks in general. Would this kind of pump be enough to run the truck if the mechanical lift pump failed?

Electric Fuel Pump Setup - Is this no good?

Yeah, I was wondering if my best option would be to put it on a switch. But then I'm wondering if the lift pump pressure would be affected trying to pull fuel through it when it wasn't on. Right now it's on constantly whenever the key ignition is on. Not sure what kind of electric pump it even...

Electric Fuel Pump Setup - Is this no good?

There is a small electric fuel pump mounted on the passenger frame rail plumbed into the fuel line between the tanks and the mechanical lift pump. It is always on when the truck is running (power coming from fuel shut off solenoid) How bad of a setup is this? Just read on another forum that the...

    HELP! Can't Remove CDR Valve

So, I managed to release tension from the stock crimp clamp by using a flat head screw driver and wedging it in between the clamp where it was crimped and spreading the clamp apart. It was actually pretty easy. After doing this the CDR valve came out easy. Wish I would have tried this before...

    HELP! Can't Remove CDR Valve

That's what I was thinking. Pretty sure it's the original unit and I'm just going to have to struggle with it. Heating up the engine is a good idea. I'll try it. Thanks.

    HELP! Can't Remove CDR Valve

1989 F250 7.3 For the life of me I cannot remove my CDR valve. Removed both mount bolts and clearing intake but no matter how much I wiggle, rock and no matter how hard I pull the unit will not come out. Can see a clamp (that looks permanent) that holds valve to the tube but nothing down where...
