Leking fuel at the rear tank

I noticed the other day that my truck was starting to leave puddles of fuel at the rear axle. Sometimes they were large puddles. I swiched to the front tank and stopped using the rear. I figure that this is my recent har starting issue. I believe that I may have to go through my back half of the...

So what did you do with your truck today?

After fixing my locked up rear brake (due to a rusted out e-brake), my beast decided to spring a leak in the rear fuel return line. Now I'll hve to find some time to tear that apart.

So what did you do with your truck today?

My right rear tire was locking up lat weekend, so I borrowed a garage from work. I tore into it thinking that I missed something serious. Nothing looked off. Everything looked like it was working as it should, but I could not move the parking brake lever. I had trouble on the left side, but I...

    Water pump going bad?

I cancelled that order and bought from another company. I couldn't wait any longer. I just went over to O'Reilys. It's been running fine ever since.

    What brakes do you suggest?

I ended up buying most everything from NAPA through work. I got the parts kit from O'reilys, and the lugs from Amazon. I wanted the extra all acorn nuts that were not sold in town. The parts kit was something like $60 cheaper than NAPA. He's been put together for over a month now and everything...

    What brakes do you suggest?

I bought NAPA drums and shoes from work (dicount). and a harware kit from o'reilys. I also got 16 lug studs. My thought is this: If I had problems with one side's studs, I'm not going to trust the other's either. Yes I bought 2 drums for the very same reason as Josh Bear stated. Right side is...

    What brakes do you suggest?

I guess that i'm most concerned about the studs. I know that i'm replacing all of them on one side. Should I be doing the other side for good measure? Thanks u2slow. Its got 250k miles on it, so a good once over is almost a must. It spent most of its life as a ranch truck hauling horses, so I...

    What brakes do you suggest?

I can buy through work and get a NAPA discount that brings me down to $340. Otherwise NAPA costs me $450+. I was looking at Rock Auto ($270).

    What brakes do you suggest?

I have the one ton with the single rear wheels. I had one of the rer wheels fall off a little bit ago. Things had to be put on hold until a paycheck. Now I'm looking at replacing these things: 1. Brake drums (the one was damaged) 2. Pads (nothing was left when I pulled the drum) 3...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Ya I got a pair of new springs ready to put in. I just got to figure out how to calculate the u bolts. I'm replacing the 5 leaf with 6. I got the 6's at a better deal. Right now I'm not putting any weight on him.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Lost a rear wheel yesterday. My beast has been making noises the past few days. I thought it was in the front end. I forgot the locks on on the front wheels after a snow and was gong to look at it yesterday evening when I got home. Imagine my surprise when my rear suddenly drops and a tire...

    KansasIDI’s 1986 Ford F250HD 7.3L IDI

Nice catch! I paid $3000 for mine a year ago and have put almost that into it. Not a complaint, just a statement of fact. I like this one better than my beat-up Chevy 2500 that's falling apart.

How to Repair and Replace Power Window Regulator 87-91

Great timing. I'm relacing the motor on my driver's door. If you have a '92, check your build date. There was a change on 5/92. The regulator and motor changed. OOps, just noticed that this tread was till 91.

    Cheap diesel fuel ok?

I have some simple rules for filling stations. Never at the bottom of hills. Busy stations only. This only works in areas in the city. My parents got fuel from a truckstop in Iowa in their motorhome quite a few years back. The got a 1/4 tank of water. They fought those guys for a couple of...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I blew a fusable link the other day and finally got it replaced. Went to start it and nothing.... He turns over, but doesn't even try to fire. So, after replacing the fuel pump, how lond does it take to get the fuel up to where it needs to go( 3/8 tank of fuel). So far I've cranked it over a...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I think that I need a slap at the back of the head emoji. That and a facepalm‍. The hose above it was doing it because I didn't clamp it down. So, yes I missed something.‍

So what did you do with your truck today?

I'm replacing the waterpump (done) and I figured as long as I have everything off, I might as well replace some other things. The fuel lift pump was leaking back bad, so that got replaced. After two days of searching and talking to people, I found that the difference in the actuator arm is OK...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I decided to get a new fuel pump because of a few factors. 1- everything was going to be off around it. 2- It was taking longer and longer to start if it sat. To me that spoke to a leak-back problem. 3 - It was cheap enough. It was a good call on my part, because no fuel came out when I cracked...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I ws a bit tired when I pulled this out and panicked a little. It wasn't until I posted that I noticed that it will still hit the cam, but in a slightly different spot/angle. I just needed some verification. Today will be all about re-installing my fuel and water pumps. My beast will love it...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I decided to replace my fuel pump as long as I had everything out of the way while I was replacing the water pump. I buy the new pump and set it aside until I'm ready and this is what I get (see pic.) The left one is a Carter 1932 off the truck. The right is a Delphi from napa. The NAPA guy...

They came with the truck. I haven't put him through his paces yet, so I don't know. The lst owner was a Rancher and hauled a horse trailer with it. I did replace the radiater with a 3 core, but that weas because it started to leak. I have a couple moe things to do, and I'll put my 5th wheel...

    Stubborn waterpump fan nut

It didn't look like it. I think it was mother nature's thread locker (corrosion and time). It all looks original equipment, so 30 some years and a bad angle were holding me back. Thanks again to everyone for your help. Both on and off this post. There are lots of helpful ideas out there.

    Stubborn waterpump fan nut

Thanks, everyone for the replies. It finally broke loose. Here's what I did: Lots of PB Blaster (may not have had an effect) Clamped one of the belts for extra holding power (thanks Rondo) Got a bigger step so i could lean into the air hammer harder. Everything else should be easier than that...
