I think that I'm having a turbo issue. My truck will randomly loose a little power, especially when on cloverleaf turns fo a little bit.

From what I got from the guy I bought the truck from, the turbo was installed in '93. That would make it almost 250k miles and over 30 years old. It may be time to look into rebuilding it.

Any suggestions?
I feel that I have 3 options:
1. Delete: It would be a temporary fix because I don't want to loose the power.
2. Rebuild: Might be my best option.
3. Replace: I've heard that new turbos are better than they used to be.

So deleting the turbo will be some work. You can’t loose any more power then deleting it. Rebuild will be cheaper usually and just fine for most people. New is great if you can swing it. If your motor has that many miles you’re not gonna want to run too much pressure anyway. BUT I’d bet from the symptoms it’s not the turbo. If the power goes on and off I’m betting it’s a fuel issue. Possibly the dump valve on your banks if it has one is opening early. Do you have a turbo pressure gauge? Exhaust temp gauge? It helps diag problems.

I don't believe it has a dump valve (too old?).
I was really thinking more like temporary bypass. That way I could drive it while the turbo is being rebuilt.
I'm in agreement with the lower pressure idea.
I don't have a pressure guage, but i do have an exhaust temp. the temps are running normal. 600 to 900 if I push it.
I've been having problems with my fuel tanks, but I don't think thats it.

I think that it would be difficult to drive your truck with the turbo removed. I've sort of done that while waiting for a customer's turbo to be rebuilt. That was only to get the truck outside so we could get another truck in to work on. It was started, ran for a few minutes to ensure that there wasn't any leaks, and then idled out of out shop. We didn't try to drive them any farther than that.
Banks did a waste gate.

They also had some that were nonwastegate.

All I can say is if this one had a waste gate, it has never worked since I have had it.

Showerhead... That could be. I had not thought of that. I'm not using my rear tank because the return line is just pouring the fuel out on the road. My front one has both a filling problem and the guage doesn't register it anymore. My plan is to replace the back tank, then try to get the front one fixed.

I am slowly getting everything refreshed piece by piece.
