WANTED: injection pump
The truck is equipped with a 150 series FASS fuel system. It was run with the FASS inoperable, though. The FASS has been repaired, so that shouldn't be a problem, again. Thanks for the info. I kind of felt the same about a used one but... I'll check out CPP. Thanks! :)- firegod33

Thought I had a bad ignition lock cylinder, on my '86 F350. It has the 6.9 diesel. I replaced the ignition lock cylinder this morning and still have the same problem. They key will turn to the "on" position, then turns too far and will not engage the starter. I can still start the truck by...- firegod33

need help please
Was there a "POP" sound right before the loss of power? I've seen boost tubes blow off on several makes of diesel engines. Usually just put the tube back on and tighten or replace the clamp and you're back in biz. Only time I've ever seen fuel gel up in a moving truck was when it was -40F with...- firegod33

When it's cold enough to make a difference in starting, jump the posts on the GP relay to bypass it. Jump them for about 10 seconds, then try to start it. If it lights right up, the relay has gone south. It's worth checking before you go digging for the GP's. BTW, when I shopped around, the...- firegod33

Do you need GP's or the GP relay? I had a problem last winter with hard cold starts. Turned out to be the relay. $108 at the dealership and 10 minutes later it cold started fine.- firegod33

I didn't get as much done today as I would have liked. Rain clouds started moving in and both trucks are too tall to fit in my garage. Besides, two project Jeeps are in there. I'm planning on completely removing the front clips on both trucks to make access easier and make it so I don't have to lift an 1100 pound engine 6' in the air. IDI to PSD swap
I have an '86 CC, F350 4x4 that I bought a couple of years ago. It has the 6.9 IDI diesel, 4 spd combo. The IDI is a great engine, but takes a while to get up to speed. With 311k on the clock, it's just beginning to puff a little blue smoke. Nothing that's going to keep the mosquitoes away, but...- firegod33

My plan was to use the entire harness from the organ donor, headlights to taillights. I'll have to extend the harness a little since the donor is an extended cab and mine is a crew cab. So far, it looks like it's game on for the dash swap. Thanks!- firegod33
