    '97 PSD Fuel mileage?

Thanx, that's my next mod. Any idea on the bogging/smoking like crazy while revving it up?

    '97 PSD Fuel mileage?

Something else came to light today, I reved the engne up in park and the engine bogged down and grayish/ blue smoke poured out of the tailpipe. I tried it several more times and it did it every time, but it runs fine while driving. I did notice that when I kicked it into passing gear it would do...

    '97 PSD Fuel mileage?

'97 PSD Fuel mileage? added a new issue I've had this truck for almost a month and have checked the mileage three times, 13 mpg ,city, every time. It is an F350 dually, 7.3, E4OD, 4.10 gears. It doesn't have any leaks and the valley is dry. Shouldn't it get better mileage than this?

'97 Powerstroke stumbles in the morning.

If that's normal I don't like it, it'll get you run over trying to leave a driveway on a busy highway. It was cool here again this am, but I let it run for a few minutes before I left and it didn't do it today.

'97 Powerstroke stumbles in the morning.

Not that I can tell, it happens so quick that I didn't even see if the tach fluctuated. It's just like you cycled te key off/on very fast three or four times.

'97 Powerstroke stumbles in the morning.

I just bought this truck about a month ago. It has been fine except for two cool mornings at about 60*about two weeks apart. I got in the truck, pulled out of the driveway and went about 100 feet and it stumbled about 3-4 quick times with no cel. After it does it, it runs fine after that. The...

Anyone else have any experience with this issue?

    '91 F250 7.3, e4od, harsh shifts, vss code

Well, I replaced the speed sensor in the t-case, same problem. If I had any hair I'd be pulling it out now. This truck has to tow 9000lbs,700 miles, in two weeks. I need to get it fixed.

The drive gear is yellow plastic, and the driven gear on the vss is pink.

    '91 F250 7.3, e4od, harsh shifts, vss code

I took it to the transmission shop. They told me p0500 and to replace the sensor in the rear diff. He used a Snap On scanner, I think he has a MODUS. I'll try a tranny speed sensor, it's only $18.99 at AZ. This truck does eat speedo gears. I've replaced the one inside the transfer case twice in...

    '91 F250 7.3, e4od, harsh shifts, vss code

This is on my '91 F250. It has it's 2nd NEW speed sensor in the rear diff. The exciter ring is good, and so is the harness at the plug. I'm getting harsh shifts and a p0500. The other day the brake and abs lights came on together and the trans started shifting normally. This went on for about...

    Looking at a 1985 F250 Dually

I know that everyone says there were no factory F250 daullies. I'm just trying to figure out what this is. I talked to the original owner of this truck and he says he bought it new as a dually. It is an XL model with no conversion interior or anything. The only thing that looks added to me is...

    Glow plug relay

I think I'm gonna do that anyway, I'm not getting a ground signal from the white wire and I should, right? I've already checked the glow plugs with a test light.

    Glow plug relay

Thanks, I guess I just need to get a new relay. Should I just get one for a 6.9 style to put on there?

    Glow plug relay

I read the articles before I posted. This is what I was talking about. This is how his is wired.

    Glow plug relay

I'm working on my neighbors '92 F250 7.3 IDI. As I understand it, the white wire at the relay supplies ground to activate the relay, is this correct? The glow plugs haven't been working on this truck since he bought it. I checked for voltages at the relay and got 12v where the big yellow wires...

I bolted these under my winch bumper where the bumper brackets bolt onto it. They're rated at 10k each.

    silicate free anti freeze

I'm a tech at a Nissan dealer and I need to service the cooling system on my F250. The factory Nissan long life coolant is green coolant that is "silicate free". Will that be good for my truck with the Fleetguard dca4?

    285's or 235's ?

Well, the gearing is what I'm concerned with. I'm wondering how well it'll tow with a 33" tall tire compared to a 31.7" (235) tire. I've towed my 20' gooseneck car trailer empty with it on the 285's and it would drop speed to 55mph on the hills.

    285's or 235's ?

I need tires for my truck. It currently has 285/75/16 Mastercraft Courser M/T's on it that wore out in about 20k miles. I'm gonna be towing 8-9k pounds with it on the interstate a few times a year. I have an E4OD and 3.55's. Should I go down to a 235/85/16 or will I be ok with the 285's towing...
