    donut replaced, still wont start not even close. believe its not getting fuel in the cylinders. Suspect the ip took a crap. Anyone got a spare ip?

    thanks for the quick replies. the ip was replaced by a qualified mechanic(Alan's Diesel Service, Donna, Tex), and ran good for a few months. Im going to replace the donut tomorrow and report back. thanks Fred

    ive checked with a meter and they are getting 12 volts, they are getting hot to the touch, they cycle for about 10 seconds. they are wellmans, could they be no good? dont know about the gear cover, mechanic did it.

    have clear line just before the filter head----no bubbles. return line kit is about 3 yrs, have had the supply line off lately and the donut looks good and other seals on the line look good. could it be sucking air there?

    have to crank and crank and it finally just barely starts up, it was running fine and strong with the new ip and let it set for a few weeks and now running like this, havnt done a compression test.

    took the filter head completely off and checked it over real good and nothing blocking that---the line from the filter head to the ip is clear also. looking into the nosecone of my spare ip, i see what looks to be a tiny pinhole, where the fuel must go in, is that correct?     think you're exactly right. must be the glow plugs. checked the resistance, they all were good, but it could be the controller, will check them for heat tomorrow.

    about 7 secs--- just tested all glow plugs and have continuity but not sure of ohms.

    batteries are good, last time it ran, ran good and started good after warm. has high torque starter. about 50k mi on current ip. when it does start cold it sounds like its just barely running, and sometimes just dies. is this a fuel pressure issue or ip going out? thanks for help

    just fixed my air leak on the front tank-----connection to the sending unit seem to be rinkydink , pulled it off and put a little o-ring. sealed it right up.

    reluctant to put my new wellman 0084's in

    I've read all the posts on them I could find but realized I had the 0084's instead of the "unmeltable" 0088's. I do have a dash momentary toggle on my 92 7.3. Maybe I should have gotten the 0088's. Any thoughts?

    disconnect the fipl or tps and drive around the block, see if the solenoids don't free up with the extra pressure.

    fuel level gauge stuck!!

    sending unit yes it was the sending unit, looked all over for one, finally found one online for 48 bucks but they were out of stock. But believe it or not found one on Amazon for 37 bucks and its motorcraft. Ordered it on the 10th and received it on the 11th. impossible!!!
