Truck runs and gets me from a to b but I have never checked fuel pressure since installing this pump 2 years ago. It doesn't seem like it has ever had a starvation issue but it definitely isn't a powerhouse. The switch I removed never worked because the connector is missing. I ordered a...
So I have a 1992 7.3 idi N/A and I removed the fuel filter vacuum sensor and installed an oil filled 0-15psi guage. I have a racor electric fuel pump and with key on engine of I have 6 psi of fuel pressure. With engine idling I have 0 psi.
Is the port for the vacuum guage a good spot to to...
Ok looking back at my service records it shows

on 10/1/16 I replaced water pump and thermostat @ 253,071
on 10/15/16 a bypass oil filtration system was installed @ 253,754
on 11/20/16 I change oil and both filters and sent my oil in for its analysis @...
I saw the fast coolers and that's what sparked my thinking. But I guess now that I think about it, it is a little overkill. I've had some pretty metallic fluid come out but like he said if somethings shedding that much flake it's probably on its way out
Basically what I'm thinking is take my pto cover off and weld two nipples for hoses on it one for supply and one for return. then take a 12v pump and use it to circulate transmission fluid through a filter then through my new aluminum radiators transmission cooler that's just going to waste then...
The supply line is on a boss cast in the engine between the stock oil filter and transmission. It is the turbo oil supply port if you have one. And I thought about the filler neck but I didn't want a hose strung out across my engine bay.
Another bit of info I will post on here I hope someone finds useful. I found a post on one of these forums by a guy named woodnthings and followed it. Its the same Baldwin b50 filter base and Napa's version of a b50 filter with built in restricting orifice. The only thing I did different was I...
To those interested here is how my exhaust is set up. It cost me 25$ for the y pipe and about a half a days work. I was able to use pieces of the factory collector to make this work. I bought absolutely nothing else but the y pipe. I did not have to remove the transmission for the original...
Just an update for those wondering. I received the timing meter yesterday the kit was very neat and organized with everything you need including the wrench and pump rotating tool. It was worth every penny to rent!! I found out @2000rpm my timing was at 3.5° so the top marks on the pump that...
Just wanted to update everyone. I spoke with Gary and I'm going to rent the tool. Now wound it be worth it to maybe go one or two degree more than the 9.5° I've read. And also its strange that it doesn't need more of an advance than that. I had a 1993 D350 and had it all hopped up and way more...
I understand they don't mean squat but I don't want to damage my engine driving around if its severely retarded and I don't want to adjust is so the lines meet up for the turbocharged marks and my engine be severely advanced. I'm just curious because this used to be a turbo charged engine and...
The engine in this truck was replaced by one that was turbocharged and had an automatic. They removed the turbo for some reason. So with that said I dug this picture up apparently there are two set of timing marks.
Oh wow!! I didn't even see those. I feel much better now. I'm still planing on buying the tools to check it. The truck runs good and starts good and doesn't smoke at all, I mean none!! But its just sluggish last time I weighed it I was right at 9500lbs with all my tools so I'm sure that has...
The tach n time from kent Moore looks a little complicated. I'm not saying I'm stupid by any means but they don't sell new units anymore and if I buy a secondhand one that is malfunctioning I might not catch it and screw my timing up. I'd rather buy a new ferret unit for the peace of mind. It...
Can somebody help me out I've searched for 4 hours and I can't find anything worth reading. Every post I see just says I need the tools or not to pull the pump cover, I get it!!! I need part numbers and a procedure with pictures for a dummy
