Old thread I know, but am thinking about moving my 7.3 IDI into my Bronco. I see that you're one of the only people that kept the TTB in the 1/2 ton. How is the front end holding up with all of that extra weight? I'm going from a 302 in the Bronco and haven't started anything yet. Just...
I have a 93 F250 7.3 IDI with a solid front, and a 92 Bronco......man would that 7.3 be sweet in the BKO. You're motivating me sir, don't know if that's such a good thing or not haha
April 2016 UPDATE:
DONE:
-Installed new drag-link set up and got an alignment
-Installed single-din radio
-Installed remanned windsheild wiper motor (all is right in that area)
-Replaced taillights with regular bulbs (were LEDs) but still need to swap out rear blinkers in hopes that will...
Sike, new wiper motor was what I needed. Turned the knob, heard the relay going off, no wiper action. Replaced the motor (remanned, but looked new, off of ebay for ~$40) and all is right with the world!
That does look good. I wonder how the paint would hold up to an elbow on it for an extended period of time. Or a knee against the door for the trip or two.
I think it's kicking itself out of OD. I can run it that way for a while throttle or not, but when at high highway/interstate speeds when I give it the beans it goes back into OD. Oddest thing to me. I also have to get it on a jack stand and spin the driveshalf to see what gears it has. I...
My Bronco is Eddie Bauer tan and I love it. Classy look I think. The red is different, but I'm learning to love it because of the people that see it an grimace in horror. The "Oh my God"s that I get make me love it more and more.:Thumbs Up
My typical Friday night ((this time trying to replace wore out tie rod ends and drag links on my solid front F250)):
1) try to get the old part off
2) maybe some PB Blaster and a couple smacks with a sledge will help
3) maybe just a couple beers while the PB soaks in
4) really really...
I'm looking forward to seeing how this thing ends up. I have an IDI (how I found my way to this site to begin with) but I also have a 92 Bronco with a 5.0 in it. When I bout it almost 2 Januarys (Januaries?) ago I had visions of a 7.3 / 5.9 / 4bt swap with 8 lug SAS.
........You're my...
SD seats. A specific year that you look for? the 99-03 SDs? I'm guessing that they changed the seats a little bit in 04 with the body style change. I do believe either way that I end up going, it has to have an armrest.
Quite an old post, but better than starting another with the same topic. I have had this issue with my trans, kicking out of O/D when I let off the throttle (not always 100% off). The PO installed LED lights in the tails. Could this cause a problem? I tried to put regular bulbs in, but it...
Dang.
I would prefer to get the oem 92-97 bucket seats with armrests. I bought a Bronco two years ago with those seats, and they IMO are the most comfortable seats ever put in a vehicle. The bench in my 93 F250 may as well be a trampoline...
Did you ever get your hands on any? I have the old porno red interior so I figured it would be pretty tough to find some buckets to replace my bench. I've been looking for a while to find some buckets, but I think I may have to result to junkyard seats, if I can find any.
Whew, I was worried there for a second. I tried to check a few places to see what the capacity was. 10 qts stock, and 11 qts if you use the FL-1995 oil filter that was designed for the Powerstrokes of a couple years later. As much as my truck leaks, it may end up being like 15qts before the...
I did end up getting Fleetcharge, which seems to be the consensus around these parts. Just need to find a place to put all of the old coolant :-). NEED MORE BUCKETS
I will look into the suggestions you mentioned above asa; thanks for the help cpdenton!
Yeah I may have. Diesel trucks up around this area are like gold. They don't seem to ever lose value, and to find one below $4k, it probably doesn't have any metal left on it. I knew I wasn't going to get a perfect one, I kind of wanted a project diesel, and this was the cheapest one I've...
UPDATE:
DONE:
-Changed the oil, put the 1995 oil filter on so now have 11 fresh quarts of Rotella T conventional
-Installed the new door latch (think it was for a xl though, no place to plug in the window lock button cable)
-Reinstalled door panel, with new handle
-Installed new XLT dash...
Boy is that a relief hahaha. I just got the truck, almost a week ago, and I"m going through and replacing the things I can. Most are just interior parts that show normal wear for being 22 years old, and I also plan on changing coolant and engine oil along with fuel filter. I appreciate you...
That clicking noise that you speak of. I have it, my buddy has it. They are both '93 IDIs, mine is NA, his has a Banks Sidewinder. The "wait to start" light goes off, there is a clicking noise (sounds quite loud) and the voltage gauge jumps back and forth in rhythm with the clicking. I...
I bought the fleetcharge online from Walmart.com and had it shipped to the house for free. They come in packs of 6 1gal bottles, so I got 2 packs. Ended up being just over $10/gal. It was the 50/50 mix. While I was there, ordered some Rotella T (11 1qt bottles) for just over $3.50/bottle...
