    No Fuel to Injectors

Alright, just so I don't leave this unfinished: It must have been something in the injection pump. I still don't know what it was, but it would not put fuel to the injectors. I swapped it out with a pump from an engine that threw a rod a little over a year ago. (I don't really have a good...

    No Fuel to Injectors

The overnight thing is why I'm so confused. I got down to maybe 5 degrees that night. But it got up to above freezing the next two days and I still couldn't get anything out of it. I suspected gelling, so I put a heat gun on the IP and let it sit there for 15-20 minutes so the whole thing was...

    No Fuel to Injectors

Long time lurker, but I finally have a problem I cannot figure out. I drove my truck last Tuesday evening, started and ran fine even though it was like 10 degrees out. Wednesday morning, same temperature, it will not start. I have determined over the last two evenings that when I crack...

    Intermittent misfire on 7.3

I'll be honest, I have no idea how many miles are on this engine. Its a 1990 7.3 (I think) and I've put probably at least 80k on it since I've owned it. It was in an '86 f250 I bought when I was 17 (around 2003 or so), and when that truck fell apart I took it out (like 5 years ago) and put it...

    Intermittent misfire on 7.3

I have a 7.3 that kinda "popped" one morning when I started it to leave for work, and its had a very subtle miss since then. I've had this motor for years and it is kinda worn out but its always ran without a hiccup until now. It does use a fair amount of oil. The miss is almost...

IDI get together in the MidWest!!!

I am a student until June at K-State in Manhattan, KS. After that I will have the time and possibly the finances to make a trip like this. If this happens this year and I can't come, I will be looking forward to an annual event. The hardest thing would be to convince my wife, and...

    Fuel heater plug leaking

That would be a relief. I couldn't figure out how it came apart earlier, and I don't have the internet at home. :thanks:

    Fuel heater plug leaking

Hey, I gotta question: The fuel heater plug on my fuel filter is leaking fuel when the truck is running. Is there a way to replace just the plug in the head or do I need a new fuel filter head? Thanks, Brock

    Engine/trans acting up

My parents have a 1994 E350, and I borrowed it last weekend and noticed that it was acting weird. The engine is idling high, and the transmission shifts hard in all gears, including reverse. I think the two may be related, but I am rather unfamiliar with the setup. Oh, it has a 5.8L and an...

    angled clutch master

Hmmm. There are holes in my firewall that allow me put either one in there. Of course, the intelligent me ran wires through some of them, so without a lot of redoing, I'm limited to the angled ones. The MC I have has had no problems sitting at a 20 degree angle, though. I'll report back if...

    Dumb question re: flywheel diagnosis

I have had that happen once. It was after it had sat for about a month pointed uphill as I worked on something. I think what happened is something leaked down on it and got in it and caused it to slip. After about a week of light driving, it had disappeared and hasn't come back since. I...

    Post Pics Of Your IDI

Here's mine. I think it falls mostly under the stock classification, even though someone before me put in a 7.3. The first is back at the farm, before I left for college. The second is at college, shell for storage only. The third is the most recent picture I have, from a weekend when...

rear end locked up and I need help!

I had that happen to the drivers side of my truck once. The end result of it all was that it had to be cut off with a torch. I think I had the nut off though, just the bearings were cut.

    CL diesel van

My brother was poking around and found this on craigslist. http://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/1077818830.html This is really cool to me, as I plan on having a decent sized family, but I don't yet, (I don't get married until July) and I can't afford it now... so sometime in the future I...

    Strange CL find.

I'm a member of the 'more space' club. I don't think I would go as far as these, but you can't go to far, right?

    Just got my first diesel...

Gas pedal?? What gas pedal? We don't need no stinkin' gas pedal. I don't know if its a common problem, but my pedal is rather stiff as well. When my power steering started leaking, it was because the pulley had rubbed through one of the hoses. Don't know if thats common either, but...

I found a Car Hualer for my Lot,...

I think it would be just hilarious to drive around in something that looks like its beat to the ground, but has something big and powerful under the hood. Maybe with a RDT so it looks like something is smokin.

    Some ZF 5 specifics needed

I didn't realize that the shifter thing was cast iron. I just welded some thick straps of steel to the sides of mine when it broke. It all fit back under the shift boot so I was happy, and it hasn't come apart since.

    Lost Tire, and Fender.

I think it would be hard to do a more thorough job than Dr. Mallard... Of course, he does have a happy goth to help him out with the lab work.LOL Back to topic, That stinks about your fender. On of my biggest fears is a blowout on the highway. Sounds like you handled it alright though...

    My truck won't start...

Darn it. Thats what I thought, but I figured I would mention it here anyway. I'm guessing that I need to wait for a warmer day, and if I can get my hands on some Diesel 911 (All sold out here in town) use it as well. Brock

    My truck won't start...

So, I live in Kansas, and it went from 60 degrees to 4 inches of snow in two days. For some reason my truck won't start. I'm pretty sure that the fuel isn't gelled. I had a can in the back and I checked it, and there wasn't even any clouding in it. That being said, when I crank it, no...

Owners of ATS prove to be low life Rats

I just did a report on retrofitting diesels with emissions equipment. If you want to 'opt-in' to reducing the emissions on your diesel, many states will reimburse part or all of the cost. However, that is not the same as requiring owners to do it. You can require manufacturers to make new...
