Some one suggested cutting the upper passenger side ear to allow the up pipe-y pipe
to clear the tranny. I have an 87 F250 with an ATS T/3-T4 hybrid turbo.
Anyone here heard of doing this?
My recently rebuilt T3/T4 hybrid ATS turbo ( thanks Russ) on my 87 6.9 has a bad oil leak.
I know there is a small Oring for the valley pan oil drain that I might have left out, but the leak seems higher, as I can see a drip from a rear left side bolt at about the 7 oclock position.
Any advice...
The up pipe connection with the lower pipe is very loose and there is a lot of soot around the area.
Also the up pipe has a twist restriction in it,
Is there an upgrade?
I have an 87 f250 with what I've always thought was a 6.9.
However, I can't find the engine code numbers usually next to the IP
On the drivers intake manifold it has 1804357C4 and RC4A with what looks to be an IH symbol in between.
On the drivers side exhaust manifold 1800842-08.
I've tried...
I drive on a lot of dusty fire roads and my engine bay gets very dusty.
I did try to tighten up the rubber side covers above the front wheels, but it hasn't helped much.
Any suggestions?
While Russ (Typ 4) is rebulding my turbo, which pipes should I header wrap?
Is there a better type of wrap?
Should I also wrap the exhaust manifolds?
Thanks,
Mike
Russ is going to rebuild the aftermarket ats hybrid T3/T4 turbo on my 87 6.9.
I"ve searched here and on the Ford forum but can't find any instructions on how to remove it.
Any advice or links would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Mike
