I disconnected the fuel heater, went for a ride and no problems, can't believe something like that would cause this headache.
Now The only problem is why did it dump the trans fluid when he was driving in limp mode? But now it holds the fluids fine
Thank you all for your help

The FIPL read 1.3 closed and 4.2 at WOT.i don't have a tool to read specifically. The fuses that blew read "K" glow plug controller fuel shutoff solenoid engine temp switch cold timing advance solenoid and cold idle solenoid. "U" reads fuel line heater electric transmission control and PM power...
Hello everyone, I am trying to help a friend out and get his truck back on the road. From what he told me one day the truck was fine, the next he's going down the road and it seems to struggle taking off from a light. Then it dumped all the transmission fluid onto the ground out of the...
I wish I had done my research first, I am so fed up with automatics I currently have two to deal with. For future reference I will keep that in mind though, thank you very much
I will pm you in a couple of days I have a couple of things to try first for free, plus my paycheck clears tomorrow anyway lol. Thank You for the offer I will be in contact
Alright I will purchase a gauge on friday.
Its kinda rough to admit being a mechanic, and not knowing the answers to these problems. problem I have is our shop doesn't touch transmissions we swap them or send the vehicle elsewhere so I have 0 experience. .. also having normal work (...
So if I pressure test it and the pressure is below spec (I Wil check all data tomorrow) I should bring it back to the shop?
This may be a stupid question but how do I check line pressure without a obd2 port and a scanner?
Well I will definately be installing a filter i was un aware of the importance. I also have to call the shop and get the specific details of what was done valve body wise and solenoid wise.. as far as I know the kit I provided (Trans star) was a gasket and clutch kit, a (dayco ) torque...
What could have gone wrong that you say it should be retaken apart and cleaned? And shouldn't the shop I had rebuild the transmission take care of it at this point?
At this point I wish I had put a zf5, but I steered away from that cause the clutch is a pain to push in from my experience. if...
That is the exact procedure I tried but I did not remember how large the range was for the voltage in the idle position. Every where I was looking said 1.1 to 1.2. I wanted to rule it out as a cause for slamming gears
I have not gotten a code reader at the moment, I will be getting that done the next slow day at work. The light does not blink, but when the button is pressed it turns over drive off and turns on the light as it should . Yes there was more metal than I would have liked to see on the magnet
I...
Hey everyone here we go again with more problems, this time it's my girl friends truck... just had the transmission rebuilt after the original stopped working all together... the truck is a 1993 f350 4x4 crew cab long bed srw 6.9 idi (serp-belt swapped, injection pump turned up a little ) with a...
well with that being said I will make something up and pressure test the original oil cooler go from there, if it passes im probably going to just park the truck until I get around to it unfortunately
sorry for making multiple responses I do not know how to combine quotes, and sorry for the delayed answers for some reason I am not getting the email notification I normally get from here. but I definitely appreciate all the input
and I forgot to add in one of those posts above that the...
this might be a stupid question, but what is xmsn? if you mean trans fluid (guessing because that would be the only place for it to mix in the radiator) I know for a fact it isn't because I have two large trans coolers in the front and the lines don't go into the radiator at all.. plus the trans...
it definitely isn't diesel, well I mean it could be but it does loose oil and my exhaust doesn't smell like im burning the oil... so im assuming the oil loss on the dipstick and the appearance of the grey mud in my coolant is gonna be oil. if it were something like headgaskets at this point id...
I did check them after the first time I did the oil cooler, everything was where it was supposed to be, and I also made sure they were tight. using new gaskets each time and making sure they were in the correct place too by feeling and looking with a light and a mirror. the bolts pressed through...
well to start off, I have tried everything I can think of to fix this problem and I am making it no where... to make things short I have a 93 f350 cclb drw 4x4 N/A 7.3 idi e4od with 389xxx on the dash and unknown on the jasper POS remanufactured engine. I was uneducated when I purchased the...
yes i am loosing oil, its probably a little over a quart a week. i have a "ghetto " catch can that is easily removed and dumped lol. i have tried everything to clean out the cooling system (as far as to running detergant in the summer, draining the block and radiator, flushing with a coolant...
Well with all of that being said i guess ill be saving for a while, thanks for all the input. As for the headgasket issue i have so much oil in my coolant its ridiculous. But NO coolant in my oil.. ive had this problem since i bought the truck, Ive done the o rings in the oil cooler 2 times...
