I have pulled the 580 on a gooseneck a couple times. It weighs around 14.5-15k. Good trailer brakes come in very handy. Pulls easier w/the dmax than with the 2000 3500 dooley w/454. Just be sure to keep the brakes maintained.

Are the diff and xfer case fluids at the proper level? How many miles in 4wd approximately? Front diff may need some time to wear in. If the front and rear tires are different sizes, you would definitely get some noise from the xfer case. May just be the nature of the beast. Please be sure...
