I just did one in the dirt with a cherry picker with out pulling the hood it wasn't bad . Leave the oil filter off ,make sure you don't have any wires between the motor and trans. crank pulley needs to come off.
If the front seal is dry I wouldn't mess with it or the heads. If the valley pan is dry don't mess with it either. All of these can be done in the truck if they start leaking later.
finally got the 7.3 running. Changed the pump and it bleed out the lines in a few mins, and started right up. Still don't know what happened to the old pump that worked fine before I changed the engine.
I was getting fuel out of the return line. I changed the top to see if the selinoid was working. both ones click. All I did was pull the running motor out of one truck and put it in the other truck. I have the lines completely undone on some of the injectors so I will put them back on. I will un...
the lines r loose foot feed wide open, getting fuel from tank, timing not moved, no fuel getting pumped by injector pump. the front of the pump is turning.
anybody figure out why my good running injection pump quit pumping while I was changing the engine.it is getting fuel to the pump and the solenoid is working. it is a 90 engine put in a 89.

it ran great in the other truck now the injection pump wont pump anything to the injectors I ve changed the seliniod cover and no change. the pickup pump is working fine .
 I took a good running 7.3 out of 90 f450 and put it in a 89 f350. The pump is getting fuel and is filling up but wont pump to the injectors. Will the pump pump with the top off ? I think the solenoid is working it did in the other truck. What is wrong?
more gutless than the scout I have a non turbo and it is slow but fun. Have you done anything to the scout motor ,like a better pipe or Mercedes exhaust housing
