    If you have any doubts, I would just replace it with an OEM unit. They aren’t all that expensive, and probably one of the most important gizmos on these engines. An aftermarket t-stat will not flow enough to properly cool these engines FYI.

    Got the same thing happening with a tractor of mine. Been doing it for years, and only has clutch chatter when I work it hard pulling a disc. The clutch is toasted in my case, just haven’t gotten around to replace it. Yours is probably going south as well.

    Jeeze, that’s some serious oil consumption. If everything else is checking out, you might have stuck oil rings. I would dump a few quarts of marvel mystery oil in the engine oil and take it for a nice long haul. Up and down a few hills pulling hard. Might be worth a try & is cheap too

    If you used the correct pressure test kit that can be found at Autozone (free rental), you wouldn’t have to block off coolant reservoir tube and would probably get a much more accurate reading on what’s going on.

    3 core champion rad on my old 87 pickup. Installed it back in 2014, and still going strong today. Never overheated while pulling grades & stayed nice n cool. Was around $250 if I remember correctly

    I’ve seen multiple rigs with this setup. Might be less expensive to fix your existing tanks if the shower heads have broken off. It’s a cheap fix & will give you back the fuel range on your truck.

    What’s it supposed to look like? LOL It’s a diesel. Your engine will turn brand new oil to pitch black in about 20 miles of use. Who cares what it looks like as long as there’s no coolant or diesel dilution in the oil.

    Yeah I saw that study years ago. Personally, I call bs on it. That’s just my opinion tho. I’ve seen before and after engines with mmo in it, and the difference is amazing including my own. Not endorsing it by any means, just my personal experience with it.
