    South Bend clutch chatter

I did not turn the new flywheel, I should have and I will with future ones, just to be sure. Yes it does have a center steady bearing on the driveshaft, it's pretty tight.

    South Bend clutch chatter

Thanks. Ya im not getting any gear "rollover" noise or any of that stuff, that seems to be common with ZF5's and a single mass flywheel. I was actually surprised to not have any after this install. First time i've had a SMF not give at least some of that noise. But the chatter is noise...

    South Bend clutch chatter

Recently installed a SB-1944 in an idi with a SF-5, with a new flywheel. I've installed several idi clutches over the years, usually Luk products. Never had a clutch related or installation issue until this South Bend It's got quite the chatter when initial engagement is made from a stop...

    Typ4 logger cam shaft

I have 2. 1 in a n/a and 1 with a Banks turbo. Yes there is a slight difference, but it's minimal and I wouldn't go that deep into the engine to install one, unless I was in that deep anyways.

ZF6 input seal and pilot bearing

Im assuming the seal can be removed and a new one installed, from the front.. without disassembly of the trans, correct?

ZF6 input seal and pilot bearing

Wanting to change the input seal on a high mileage 1999 ZF6, while I have it out. Any tricks to it? Never done one on a ZF6 before. And what's the latest on pilot bearing upgrades? Is there a go-to pilot bearing upgrade out there?

    PSD glow plug thread pitch

Thanks. ZD9 is an idi plug however. The ZD11's in a stroke, are different. The threads of an idi plug will bind when trying to turn them into a powerstroke head (just as to test thread fitment)

    PSD glow plug thread pitch

Needing to clean up some mangled threads in 1 glow plug hole. Wanting to confirm thread pitch before I attempt to make sure I have it 100% right before I make it worse. Im getting conflicting info about the threads being 10x1.0 vs 10x1.25 Any insight?

    Swapping a 1995 engine, into a 1999 super duty

How about the IPR. I recall there are some different part number designations from early to late OBS years. Is there a reason the 95 IPR wouldn't jive when it's running in a SD truck?

    Swapping a 1995 engine, into a 1999 super duty

I have a 99 SD with a bad engine. And an excellent runner in a 1995 E350 that I want to swap in. Just to clarify what all I need to change over. Running the SD ECM. -Injectors and harnesses from the SD swapped onto the 1995 engine. -Turbo, plenums. -Mechanical fuel pump delete, for the...

    Driveline Park Brake

Anyone on here have any experience mounting/fabbing/custom installing a driveshaft parking brake on superduty F450/F550 4x4 applications? Dana 135 diffs in my case. The factory hub style park brakes are a joke and i'd like to upgrade to something much more robust and trust worthy. Any...

Anyone running an additional bypass oil filter?

They were pretty common on old OTR semi trucks. Large oil capacity, long drain intervals, many miles, sooty engines. Probably overkill on a small oil capacity engine. If I were to run one, it would be on an older dirty, sooty engine; certainly not a newer cleaner engine like a PSD for example

    86, block heater question ,,

Is re-torquing head studs a thing? I re-torque every idi I touch that has bolts still, and never blown a head gasket with them, and they always take quite a bit to achieve spec, so im sold on the idea.. But I've always left the studs alone after they're installed.

    86, block heater question ,,

That's a good block. Ya the heaters leak after time. Not a big deal to change, when the starter is out of the way. You might get some coolant down your arm, but life goes on
