Considering i had to drive to GA to buy my truck for 2k, and i would have to spend another 2k or better to make it look that good......4k sounds reasonable to me. Up here vehicles just dont last if you drive them in the winter. Dont get me wrong, there are plenty of early 90's trucks still...
Was driving to work and saw this beauty......
89 F350 7.3L with a C6 and only 33K ORIGINAL miles......Was a local fire dept truck and stored inside when not used. I didnt get any interior shots, but it is MINT.
Dont see many like this up here in the salt belt.....enjoy :popcorn...
Up here in the "Salt Belt"....we call that an "Automated Rust Prevention System" ;Sweet
Thats a great find in my book. I would have paid 1k for that just for a parts truck. When i do find a parts truck i will post a few pics so you see how lucky you are.

Thx for the info guys. I went and looked it over and the axle ratio is 4.10 :(. I would have to re-gear it and that adds $$$ to the whole process that i was hoping to avoid. Other than that the truck frame/body is just plain junk. Its an 87 F350 regular cab with a 7.3l n/a and C6 that was...
So im gonna go look at a Bricknose F350 4x4 7.3l Auto for a parts truck. Planning on putting the front axle in my 89 F250 to get rid of the TBB Dana 50 (need to verify the ratio). From what i have read on various boards it should be a bolt in operation, using the outers from my D50 on the DRW...
Read last paragraph HERE...i know 'most' people here dont have plastic tanks, but if you create a vacuum in your tank you are making your pump work harder/wear out sooner.
If you dont have some way for the tank to draw air you will create a vacuum and start having fuel issues. The rollover valve allowed air in/out and a small ball would plug the hole if you rolled over. Diesel does not evaporate like gas so its ok to vent the tank over one of the rear wheel wells...
So i've been looking for a new FSV and was wondering whats the best way to go?
1 - Ford Parts Giant - 221.38
or
2 - RockAuto Parts - 111.79 Airtex/Wells brand
I know for some parts there is a preferred brand for reliability, and i will not skimp on such parts if need be. Any...
Another fun filled day crawling around under the truck in the snow lol. Well i have confirmed my FSV is bad. After replacing the feed line from the rear tank which had two kinks in it and bypassing the FSV everything is fine now. Gonna have to get a new FSV and replace all the nylon lines...
Did some more work on my tank and lines today. There was a kink in the factory plastic feed line a few inches from the tank. Cut that off and spliced some 3/8 in its place, then hooked it all back up for a test. FAIL -cuss...was still pumping like it is restricted. I followed the feed line from...
Got to work on it a little today. After pumping out most the tank(10gal) i started to loosen it up to drop it and the pump took off like a raped ape! So i pushed up on the tank and sure enough the pump got choked off again. For some reason when the tank is tightened up its pinching off the feed...
Well when its getting fuel it pumps great :rotflmao.
I have the pump mounted on the inner left frame rail just after the FSV (which is bypassed atm). At idle is the only time i can check the filter bowl and its 75%-100% full of diesel. I have a single piece of new 3/8 rubber line from...
Had about 6 gallons in when i left the house, then added another 5gal on the side of the road....no way i was sucking air from the feed line. I know my feed line extension is about 3/16" from the bottom of the tank and that 'should' be fine imo. Will see tomorrow when i tear it back apart...
Well i got my gauge hooked up and functioning today. Went for a ride to fill her up after dinner and thats when my night went to hell . About half way there the fuel light came on and she was acting like i was out of fuel, and i know i wasnt. Had my girlfriend go get me 5gal just to be sure...
Mounted my fuel gauge today, wired the 12v ignition and ground lines. Tried to tie into the fuel selector switch for the tank sender, but i could not make it work. Anyone know why the ohm's wont read right going through that switch? So tomorrow i will run a new line from the rear tank. After i...
