    Ouch, you are right old thread. 6.0 starter.....i am using a 6.0 excursion starter on my 71 F250, and i will be installing my 4th starter on warranty here soon. OUCH. They have not been starting to spin as they go in and thus do not engage....Just FYI

    I have heard of more upset customers from FordCummins then Destroke, however on my conversion i used neither, instead i used a local guy who does it as a hobby on the side. So i have no experience with either...just from what i have read over the past few years prepping to do mine.

    I dont know what the exact weight was....but when i pulled the 390 and replaced it with a 4BT in my 71 F250, i am fairly certain it rides higher now....so it may not be too heavy.

    Yeah thats another problem of having a heavier bumper your more likly to screw up your frame instead of busting up your front and busting a radiator and intercooler.

    2cycl helps a lot in my opinion. Quieted my 01 down enough that you actually notice it. Dont use ATF...i cant remember exactly why but if my memory is correct its because the formula isnt the same as it use to be so it doesn't burn right and will not lubricate like the old atf did...but my...
