thats what i thought. i knew id have to get the block decked and honed too. and after i looked at it i took a ride across town and rolled past my ex's house and remembered all the nights it was in the driveway. made me sad lol maybe one day ill get her back.. for now.. on to the next one!- superduty12v

its not the same as rollin down the street. my ex girlfriend dubbed it the green monster. i loved that truck when i had it. id be 10x more inclined to buy it for less money and if the motor was at least in the truck. btw, are do these 6bt's have cylinder liners?- superduty12v

went to look at it today. what a fu**ing shame. the truck is smashed, rotted to sh!t the engine is no longer in the shop with the new head its in the bed with a tarp over it! it looks like a truck thats been to the scrap yard. i apologize for the engine being bad, he blew the HG and it had a rod...- superduty12v

not from what ive personally heard, or seen, just talked to another fleet mechanic today, all 7.3s, 2 or 3 6.0s and the top notch guys get a 6.4. them 6.4s have been doin good. you gotta pull the cab ik it, but the turbo thing is way off, the turbos are totally different- superduty12v

changing my trans filter
im changing the spin on, the current ones leaking. i got a quart of dex/merc ATF to replace what ive lost and the 8 oz in the filter. am i good to go with this? or should i just drain it and refill it? and what fluid do i refill it with and how much, never did any trans stuff to this truck. just...- superduty12v

job1 6.4s had the stuck injector issue, i believe. they also had cracked radiators, and sometimes a faulty EGR. i was talking to the tech down at ford and he told me flat out, hes been moving around from dealership to dealership as the shop manager i guess, and not that many 6.4s have been in...- superduty12v

but let me say this as well, quite a few 6.9 IDIs like to blow HGs, same as 6.0s, the 6.0 just happens to be more involved and costly to fix (the price of technology) its like doing HG's on a carb 350, compared to a mercedes benz..- superduty12v

i agree completely, they have there issues. however they like to be worked. hard. theres a dude in town who had a common rail cummins, and an LBZ duramax, two pretty reliable diesels, and had nothing but problems towing his l35 kubota around. its a one ton dump. he has an 04 6.0, i talked to him...- superduty12v
