WTB: Tank Crossover Valve for 89 7.3

Before I dish out a crapton on a new generic one, I was hoping for someone on here to have a stock Motorcraft fuel crossover valve for an 89 7.3 longbed single cab.. Im running out of the front tank only right now and would like to use the rear tank. Thanks in advance!

    gonecrazyi

Bump for Billy, he's helped me out a ton with my 89. Now if I could just find a fuel tank crossover valve, I'd be set!

    fuel filler mod

i found a 94 idi in a junkyard and noticed the fuel filler necks are already wider to accept big rig nozzles. I got rid of the roll over valve completely and found a brass fitting that was snug enough to fit into the top of the tank where the rollover valve was. I used some rubber hose to route...

Fair price when buying ac system?

i paid 300$ for my rebuilt compressor from napa with the conversion kit, orifice tube and all new o rings.. works great. i highly recommend taking it to a shop with a vacuum machine to have it filled. using those r134 cans is a nightmare and NOT accurate.

Show off your WMO/WVO filtration setups

Thanks for the pics billy. I have a local CAT dealer right around the corner from me, Im gonna start looking into getting some larger volume filters like you have there. i already have about 8 gallons of WMO to test out with plenty more i can grab from shops around town. I also need to find a...

will turning up the ip turn down mpgs?

It doesnt take mastery in this to know that more fuel in engine = less mpg.. although the heaviness in your foot would play a much much bigger role.

    PSD oil filter

Damit, I just changed the oil on my 7.3 and used the stock idi filter.. I guess there's always next time to do this.

i know most you guys are freezing your butts off but, My AC works awesome now.

I just had to share my good news somewhere :cool I got my truck's a/c checked today and it was a whole freaking lb low on freon... no wonder it worked with such mediocrity. It now makes my cab a FREEZER. Im really glad since its getting real warm here in FL For those who are still in freezing...

    Uhaultruckparts.com on sale

If it matters at all, I just bought a set of new bosch GP's (green stripes) and have been using them for just over a month now. They have worked flawlessly thus far and fire the truck up in 1.5 revolutions cold starting.

With these crazy gas prices, I think its time to start filtering some WMO/WVO...

Definitely Billy, I'd love to check it out.. Im trying to get some ideas on how big it needs to be and on what scale would be best for me.

    moisture in headlights.. arghhhhh!

I've polished them up real nice, and let them dry out, but i am STILL getting moisture inside the lenses :confused: I drilled a small hole on the bottom of each bulb socket to allow for air to flow in/out, but the moisture isnt getting out. What do you guys do to your bricknose...

With these crazy gas prices, I think its time to start filtering some WMO/WVO...

Well I don't think I'd use this was a fuel substitute, but most definitely an additive.. i was thinking 50/50 or 60/40. Ive read alot about it on this site and it seems everyone says filtration is key, and that it should be filtered down to 1 micron to prevent any gunking or coking on the...

With these crazy gas prices, I think its time to start filtering some WMO/WVO...

Ive been pondering this idea for a while.. I'm in between jobs, and I need a way to cut my fuel costs big time. I have a bunch of spare oil and access to lots more if needed. I'm thinking of setting up my rig here, and I know a buncha folks do the same thing with some pretty complex rigs. I was...

dang blasted radio noise/interference... and more IP timing?

Still the same dam crap. Maybe I just need to run an inline noise filter behind the head unit..

dang blasted radio noise/interference... and more IP timing?

Thanks for the link, picked up a replacement voltage regulator for 20$ at the parts store and made a ground cable from the body of the alt to the chassis, lets hope this solves my static issues

dang blasted radio noise/interference... and more IP timing?

that video was extremely helpful and answered my question regarding the extra wire coming out of that voltage regulator. Except, that alternator appears to have only 2 wires outputting while mine has 3 (2 small wires on that harness and the large one which goes to the starter solenoid) Do auto...

dang blasted radio noise/interference... and more IP timing?

Where is the voltage regulator is that also whats called the electronic regulator? how could I test/replace the capacitor? i feel like most of my questions could be answered if I had a factory service manual for this truck..

dang blasted radio noise/interference... and more IP timing?

yes, Ive replaced the negative battery cables, grounded the frame to the engine, engine to battery etc. Not sure what other grounds to for..

dang blasted radio noise/interference... and more IP timing?

I have not grounded the alt case to the chassis, I was thinking about doing that exact thing yesterday.. I'll give that a shot tomorrow. There really is no difference in quality with it on or off. BUT when the truck is dead cold and I start the radio, it works as if everything is fine.. it only...

dang blasted radio noise/interference... and more IP timing?

I've been slowly pecking away at all the little quirks with my 89 7.3.. She's never run better thus far.. I had the timing modestly bumped up by Diesel JD and runs much smoother despite the same mpg  maybe another bump would help? i could really use a pulse timer to see where my...

    Front suspensions toasty TTB

I hate my ttb front end with a burning passion. if only I could find a complete dana60 front end to swap on.. im only 2wd too, I just want to lift my truck a couple inches, the front sags like some old lady flapjacks.

Same sub-par mileage even after IP re-timed.. ugh!

Well I took some brake cleaner around and below the IP and cleaned some things up and noticed a 'STANADYNE REMANAFACTURED' tag on the side of the IP.. so this means it's not the stock IP.. but who knows how many miles are on it..

Same sub-par mileage even after IP re-timed.. ugh!

Thank you both for the replies. I bought the truck wiht 189k on it.. the injectors removed were most definetely the original ones, a couple injector lines were cracked when purchased and i am not sure if the IP is original or not. I will certainly keep an eye on the diesel below the ip.. come...
