I have heard a few times that you can lower a vehicles body height by flipping the rear end over and mounting it on top of the leafs ... Wouldn't this reverse the rotation of the tires relative to the desired direction of travel?:dunno
If ya get curious about ratios then peek at a normal 4x4 with hi and lo ranges ... Another good set of figures is for the old 2 1/2 tonnes from the military ... Those were fun ... Put yer arm thru the wheel so you stay straight while shifting 2 levers at once ... 3 levers if you were in a hurry...
A brownie? ... Now that brings back memories of putting 8 tons of feed in a 5 ton box ... Nothing like shifting up a gear and down a range at the same time while wondering about the log trucks coming up from the rear ...

I like the "Last forging" one ... Seems like that would be the last item forged in the plant ... A truly special item especially with the "Last truck" buckle ...
As for not starting, when I first got my F250 there was a rats nest in the tailpipe ... Spent 2 battery recharges to finally build pressure to blow it out ...
Back in the day I used to splish splash thru the puddles (door deep) and cross creeks at near wot ... In the deep holes we would see who could surf the farthest before dying :) ... That was how I learned to semi seal the engine compartment with sheet metal ... Later those places were closed off...
As for the gp's there are two schools of thought ... Stay with oem or go with heat regulating ... The old style can burn up if something happens and they get power for an extended length of time ... No matter which you choose I would suggest heating them up for a short cycle before installing...
There are a ton of conversions out there ... Limited only by ones imagination and determination ...
That being said ... Just a quickie ... On the motor mounts on my '86 F250 6.9 the seem like they are just bolted to the frame ... Could this be true ... Please tell me it is ... I am thinking of...

Please do not "roll coal" unless you are going up a grade under load ... The diesel industry (and us owners) have always been sneered at by gassers, LOE and just about everyone else because of our smoke ... Black smoke is just money going out the stack as...
As the proud owner of an '85 F250 4x4 with C6 and 6.9 (and it is my first Ford and diesel truck) I figure I can say a bit ... I agree with y'all about the attributes of the old mechanicals .... No electronics to fry at a most inopportune moment (first day of vacation 100 yards short of the top...
Speaking of people learning to back up ... Did a stint as security for a membership only campground ... Met a few new retirees that drove beemers all their life, now they are trying to drive a non-commercial semi with a 42 foot, triple slide-out trailer behind ... Either that or a 45 foot motor...
