Rust on Dually Front Wheel Covers?

Thanks, MMeier. I think this is brake dust... some wheel cleaner seems to have worked wonders. Will hit the wheels again this weekend, when I have more wheel cleaner and the truck is by a wash rack. Plastic wheel covers. Now, that's quality!!

Rust on Dually Front Wheel Covers?

Have a question... I noticed on my '06 Ram 3500 dually that the front wheel covers have become very pitted in the groove at the outside edge of the "spokes" and in the slots (looking through these you can see the brakes.) I initially thought this was rust due to the truck being parked by the...

    Fuel Mileage - Be Honest

My guess is that fuel mileage for any of the Big 3, averaged across a fleet of trucks, is essentially equal. Some will do better than that brand's average, some will do worse, and the gap between the top mileage brand and the bottom is relatively insignificant. Buy what you like, and enjoy it.

Need Help - I think I'm getting screwed

Yeah, I don't think the root of this fellow's issue was injectors. Unless I missed something, sounds like the dealer's screwing him big time. More eager to charge for new injectors than to fix the electrical problem that's the root of the question. He's got an electrical issue if jiggling...

    Misc '91 IDI Parts

Looks like these are part numbers 21452, 21453, which sell for just over $50 apiece from what I can tell. The accompanying inner pieces, 21456 and 21457 go for just over $20 apiece. I can't seem to find part numbers online for the rear pieces. At any rate, I need to sell these six pieces as...

    Misc '91 IDI Parts

These are "new", meaning they have been stored since I bought them in new condition about 6 years ago. They need some cleaning (spider webs/dust), but should be serviceable. The ones on my truck were brittle due to UV/age, and I never got around to installing these. These have never been...

    Misc '91 IDI Parts

I sold my truck awhile back, but have some old parts that may still be useful. The metal parts are window rails that inside the doors, I believe. The rubber parts shown go at the bottom of the windows in the doors. Also a couple drain plug covers are shown, as well as a trim piece for the A/C...

My idi got to go on a chase last night...

Can't stand these types of idiots... good luck catching them, but remember they may have more ammo than you. Don't end up on the wrong side of that.

    Additives

My '06 has 33,000 trouble-free miles on the clock. Thinking about using the last of the Stanadyne "Performance Formula" and their "Lubricity Formula" on my Dodge/Cummins. Bottles are 4-5 years old and have never been opened, and have been stored inside in a noncondensing environment. Are...

    TSB - No Start

I recently dealt with a no start situation on my '06. Batteries are good, but once I clicked the key over to start the truck, it wouldn't even try to crank. I've heard there's a TSB on this issue... but could not locate it. Can anyone point me to it? I assume Dodge knows of the issue and...

    2006 Dodge Ram 3500 - Rust

Starting to notice a little bit of rust on the bed of the truck (where bed rails join the piece behind the cab, very superficial) and also underneath. Going to take the truck to Dodge to get this on the warranty papers, because I don't think rust on ANY part of a 3+ year old truck is normal...

    '87-'91 Parts Available

I recently moved due to military orders and, due to a change in circumstance (living in an apartment with little storage space), need to sell some parts intended for the '91 F-350 I used to own. I have a complete set of new-in-the-box towing mirrors and tripods, as well as some other stuff...

    Road trip story

My experience with the flickering battery light was a bad voltage regulator... Believe I replaced the alternator and VR, but can't recall if they were integrated into one piece on the '91 I had... Mike

    Radios?

Had been running a Galaxy DX-95T. Might have to step down a bit, as I think this thing requires a license to operate, technically... I mounted this radio in an overhead shelf, ran the antenna and power cables through the floorboard up into the headliner area. Antenna was mounted to the bed...

    Hazy Plastic Headlight Repair??

Tried it on my '91 F-350. Gave up and bought new lenses. I've been considering the purchase of a new Focus... but for God's sake, $1500 is over 1/10th the price of the car!!!

    '06 3500 tranny

Isn't the transmission on the '06 different than the one on the '04? I have only 28,500 on my '06 with 6-speed manual transmission, but have had no problems with it. Pull 10k-12k with the truck occasionally... horses. Never had a problem, and I've "goofed off" with the truck when the...

    My trucks accel run.

I own an '06 Ram 3500 dually with the 5.9, and owned a hopped up (turbo'd) '91 F-350 with 7.3 before that. My Ram (6-speed) will do 0-60 in less than 9 seconds, and I counted a few ticks longer in your vid. Truck is stock. Your friend's Dodge must really be saddled with some heavy meats and...

    What's better?

When I had Brian's Truck Shop rebuild my E4OD several years ago, he used a $1200 torque converter in his rebuild. Might want to check with him. Mike

    Stolen truck!!! Please help!

Chuck, Sorry to hear this... I always see your truck when I'm out running on base across from your shop. If I weren't in Iraq right now I'd help keep an eye for it. Good luck. Truck thieves oughta be shot. Mike

    Truck performance--manual transmission

For me it came down to some fit/finish issues and lack of available time to fix some little things that I felt needed my attention. Had some trouble with a BTS transmission... smoking heavily and stalling in reverse... took it by BTS on my way thru AR and we thought we'd fixed it, but no. Also...

    Truck performance--manual transmission

Free hugs!?!!?! Heheheheh. I can't do anything about a truck till late this year, so I have plenty of time to think about this. In Iraq right now. I can't believe you were able to pull 7 horses with that truck in the hills--my usual rig when I lived in Georgia was my '91 with a 3-horse...

    Truck performance--manual transmission

You guys, that never has happened to me or anyone I know... Bottom line is I have to have some options on the table when I talk to the wife about our fuel/automotive expenses vs our true needs... Just want to come to the discussion with some ideas and options... and it is easier to...
