1994 IDI Turbo Crew Cab 2WD Complete WMO Project

I could get some in the coming days. But, like I said, it's the same as the video I posted. Only, it's covered in shag bark hickory "patina" right now.

1994 IDI Turbo Crew Cab 2WD Complete WMO Project

Selling my project truck along with all my acquired/fabricated WMO stuff. The truck runs but has developed a head gasket leak and I'm not in the mood to fix it. Here is a link to my youtube channel with various videos of it: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvvsvpol36PJxVHw57aYHnQ The truck is...

    That's It! I'm done.

It's not that the prospect is scary. It's that the effort is not worth the time. By the time I took all the stuff off, whether the engine is removed or not, the sum of the value of the removed parts (including other non-engine parts) would be more than the running truck.

    That's It! I'm done.

Well, it's been an interesting 10 years or so with my project 94 F350 CC Dually conversion. But, I'm moving on. A head gasket leak was the last straw. In order to repair it, I would be removing lots of valuable parts that are in the way and by then, it would be easier/more profitable to part it...

    Rancho RS5000X Reviews?

Shocks and shock tuning are mostly black magic to the general motorist. One of the main reasons is that without the right equipment, it's impossible to know what you have. Hand stroking or on-vehicle bounce testing to check damper effectiveness are meaningless. The most important piece is that...

    Filter Question not IDI Specific.

Thanks for the replies. I'm sorry that was not worded better. I did mean a whole house type filter. Since posing the question, I found some information online. The type of filter I'm using, a poly type, should be good for 60psi working differential. I found info for a typical filter that...

    Filter Question not IDI Specific.

I'm using a filtering setup with a 25micron hydraulic filter followed by a 15micron Golden rod then a 1micron house filter. I'm using a belt driven steering pump as the pressure source. I placed gauges on all sides and the house filter is starting to show some pressure of about 3psi on the...

    WMO Filter Setup

I'm in the market for the same vehicle as yours and plan to run some waste hydro on it. I'm hopeful that by the time I do get one, you'll have some experience with this to share with us.

    fuel pressure

Ah, the two gauges might be your issue. I would think the Schraeder side is fine. It's after the paper element and pressure should be the same as the filter outlet and the pressure switch side. I myself had a gauge tee'd off the pressure switch port.

    fuel pressure

I think so as well. Your measuring method or tools or both are flawed. There is less than 15psi atmospheric air pressure where ever you are on this earth. If you're measuring for vacuum with a vacuum gauge that is absolute, I can see where you could see 17psi. At sea level, that would mean...

    My On-Board Centrifuge Setup

The heat varies greatly by ambient temperature and use. Have you ever seen melted mudflaps? Most of the time, the exhaust tip at the back of a truck can be touched but sometimes, it must get pretty hot. Plus, I don't need any heat added to that tank.

    My On-Board Centrifuge Setup

I don't need that much heat to the tank. Has anyone ever figured the exhaust heat thing? It would take sophisticated controls to regulate it I'm sure.

    My On-Board Centrifuge Setup

The air maintains an air pocket for the rotor to spin. The constant splashing aerates the oil to a degree. Consequently, some of the air is taken away and needs to be replenished. The pressure inside the chamber only needs to be slightly higher than what the returned oil column creates. If the...

    E4OD Issue Help Needed

Yes, my idle is set high. I had moved it up because of the stalling situation. It's at about 1000rpm now. Since that is fixed, I plan on moving it back down but if the voltage setting drops below 1.1V at idle, I'll first evaluate if the shifting is good before I adjust it again. These...

    E4OD Issue Help Needed

Resolution. Guys, In the end, the tach sensor was bad. When I went to remove it, I noticed the PO had wrapped electrical tape to the wires as they come off the sensor. The tape had worked it's way up the wires and one of them showed the insulation was completely gone. Also, the FIPL...

    My On-Board Centrifuge Setup

Photo Update Update. I think I've finally figured this thing out. I've been running it recently with no issues and pulled a lot of very fine contamination from the centrifuge rotor. Here are some pictures that will describe the system better than my video. This is a picture of the hard...

    E4OD Issue Help Needed

Never mind. I found the OBD1 plug under the hood by the brake booster and pulled the codes. I have a soft 23 (FIPL sensor input out of self test range) code and two hard codes, 14 (RPM circuit - likely the tach pickup) and 43 (TPS or FIPL below idle speed) codes. Lets see how the other tach...

    E4OD Issue Help Needed

That's just it. I don't think I can drive it to the nearest shop and they're probably closed now. How do I pull the codes myself?

    E4OD Issue Help Needed

Thanks. I'd done more searching and found one of your posts to some lady's tranny problems with a great breakdown of how the logic of the various sensors works. This had me thinking the tach sensor might be the issue but now I'll be sure to change it. I only have a used one available but at...

    E4OD Issue Help Needed

From searching some more here, I have these this to add which might be pertinent. My tach, when warm, will read erratically and drop to zero at idle. My speedometer was working fine.

    E4OD Issue Help Needed

I've had this issue for a while now but it has gotten pretty severe. When my truck is slowing to a stop, my transmission (94 Turbo E4OD) seems to either not shift into a lower gear or let go of the converter lock up mechanism. It sometimes slows the engine to a stall. This also happens sometimes...

the big bad oil tank and filtering system

Boston, This is only related to the heat necessary for centrifuge operation. The problem with all those electric heaters is that, they just don't put out enough heat to thin out the oil enough. The specific heat of the oils we're talking about is roughly half that of water. That is, it...

the big bad oil tank and filtering system

Comlexity Gone Awry Boston, This and several of the other ideas here would work. But, would it not be simpler to just try a hydraulic pump off the engine? The way you have it now is; mchanical->electrical->mechanical->hydraulic. You could just bypass some of these conversions and go...

    Foaming? Why?

Heat Yes, it is heated to engine temperature. I wonder if the veggie oil is to blame?
