    Opinions on Travel Trailer size/weight

I went back and did some more checking and the national park campgrounds are generally around a 27 ft limit. They wont come out and shoot you, but chances of getting anything much bigger through most of those places is somewhere between slim and none. I spent over 3 months out on the road with...

    fuel additive for warm weather?

Ayup. I can still remember the first time I ever put Howes in a big truck.... around 30 years ago. It was running like crap and I dumped that stuff in ...and it started pouring out the thickest brown smoke Id everseen for about 20-30 miles , then it smoothed out, next tank it ran like a top...

    Diesel Fuel Rated Hose?

Generally the regular gas hose is not ok for diesel ( I have seen it get soft and rot ), but the stuff for fuel injection is. CHances are the stuff at your truck parts place will be just fine

    ATS uppipe sealing

you could always take the thing to a welder who can weld cast and have them build up the pipe a little, then grind it down until you have a decent interference fit. Not cheap or simple, but permanant.

    fuel additive for warm weather?

Cant go wrong with Howes Meaner Power Cleaner Good stuff Remember , with pickups you want to dose higher, its not critical as it is with antigel, but all products made for big trucks are rated for large volum systems with a high return rate, and on cars and pickups require rougly 3 times the...

    Coolant

Heres a thought. If it came in the truck.... Change it. You can pretty well bet its been in there too long anyway. Why not just quit worrying about what it might be and just get something in there that you know what you have and you know itsfresh. Any coolant that runs water requires...

    top dead center???

Correction, you are at BOTH 1 and 4 TDC at the same time, ts just that one of them is at Compression stroke TDC and the other is at axhaust TDC and on the next rotation its the other way around.. THis is why you can time off either one and be corrrect.

    US Gear Decellerator

OK, that all makes sense, that thing was really wham banging with some current to it. so we just need to rig a 2 stage switch then It can evenbe two seperates with setting teh hold first then triggering the pull with a momentary and that would set the thing

    Limited slip

Question? Do you actually know how to USE a posi? Im not trying to be a stinker here, but most folks have absolutely no idea. They think ithat in total stuck type situations that all they have to do is mash the gas and a posi is supposed to power them through with both sides flailing away...

    US Gear Decellerator

We crawled under that thing today to figure a bypass manual switch out. . Looks fairly basic as far as the pull coil to close the flap, but what exactly is the purpose of teh hold coil terminal? and are both terminals needed charged to activate the unit ?

Removing the engine and transmission together

if you have a stout enough cherry picker that could lift up high enough, then I dont see why not, but that engine weighs about 1000 lbs by itself and if you look at the rating on your cherry picker, it will have a max rating with the arm all the way IN and a much lower rating with the arm...

Facet Duralift With Turned Up IP & Turbo

I had one on at one time a few years ago when I was doing some timing experiments, It never dropped below about 2-3 psi under full load. What you folks have to remember is that a pumps pressure rating is what it SHUTS OFF or goes into internal BYPASS at, it is NOT to be considered the...

    Limited slip

Useless??? THis is the big myth. THey are generally MADE useless by owners not taking care of them, The owners manual is rather specific about service intervals, and they are not very long when used in severe service ( of which running on farm roads etc would be considered along with towing...

Considering taking requests for Pictutorials or suggestions.

Honestly on windshield installs, for the amount you have to spend on tools and supplies, and the odds of screwing it up, its pretty hard to beat what most mobil glass guys will do it for

Ordered the license plates for E3 today

Yea, I'm about to put antique tags on one of my cars. THe deal is no more than 25k miles a year , and you have to have a vehicle registerd the normal way to keep the antique tag Ark is pretty good on most things ( and cheap ) but my cousin recently moved back here after being out of state for...

What type is it??? Worn out :rotflmao Sorry, but thems how it is. You have a set of clutches in there and they are long gone. Mine was worse than that when I got it., but a bit over 100k miles ago I rebuilt it and stuffed a new set of clutches in there, and have been running Amsoil 75-140...

    Long road trip...new problem-white smoke

Hey Mel, there's a reason that they like to spec those big add on Racor fuel seperators on big trucks.... its because the little water drain sections in filters really dont work if running at highway speed, they basically work when you are doing a lot of idling , but when going down the road...

    Towing and Driveline Removal?

Ayup.... BEst to listen to the guy to tows things all the time :-) I'm not even sure if those RV brake toad goodies will work in something as big as a van. THey are built to stop a small to mid size front wheel drive car with the booster not functioning, theres nowhere near the pedal...
