Hey folks. I can't get the probe to fit in the tube over the damper. A 5/16 drill bit doesn't help any. Anything else I can use that I'm not thinking about? And also should I set the unit to 9.5 before timing- I seen some posts that folks left the unit at 20 degrees to time, but you don't want...
So the light came back on again after a couple days. Then it goes off. Then comes on with red brake light. Then off. Then just the red light. It stops, so I'm still driving it.
So I brought the truck back to my friend who bled them. He jumped uner the truck and bled the rabs while I pushed the pedal. No more light, and the pedal is definitly better. He told me he usually wouldn't bleed those valves in the older trucks- if the bleeder broke off then I'd be out a valve...
This is one thing I don't know much about. The light came on today coming home from work. I just brought the truck to my buddy with a shop to bleed my brakes for me cause I can't do it myself. Now the light came on. This is on the 87. Just the yellow light, not the red one. Any thoughts on what...
Hey Goat, I have a 2 post lift in my garage. So doing the bed is no prob. I'm sure going to miss it when I move. I'm an idiot because I just replaced the rear tank a year ago, and I didn't research the 38 gallon tank before I did it. So if anyone is looking for a 19 gal rear tank, I'm going to...
Seen one for 900 with a built in tool box. I'd like to find one that would go under the Reading cap I put on the truck. Plus I could make it to Carolina without paying for fuel.
I was thinking of taking 95. It has plenty of stops for fuel. Probably going to be no fuel at them, but whatever. Figures this BS would happen when I'm getting ready to move. Pulling a 5x9 trailer with my bike and as much of my tools that I can fit in the truck and around the bike. I'd love to...
My tank has the skid plate. Going to pull the bed over the weekend hopefully. I have to replace the midship tank. Just keeps clogging filters. So that's why I'm thinking about the rear tank now. I need to find a seller that ships quick. Thanks for all the reply's.
I was thinking of swapping out my rear 19 gal tank to a 38. But I can't find straps for it. You folks that did the swap- where did you get those straps? For the 87 F250.
I was wondering if a fan assisted one is overkill. The Hayden one looks good and simple- thanks. I don't have a lot of time to put into the truck right now. Too busy getting my house ready for sale.
So I'm going to be moving from NJ to S Carolina in a couple of months, and I'll be driving the 87 down. I will be pulling a small trailer with my bike, tools and whatnot. The total load weight will probably be around 4000lbs. I'm running 3.54 gears with a C-6. I just did the top end 6 months...
I did my heads a little while back by myself. I used a cherry picker to get the heads off and on. Just takes a little time. Get the heads checked while off if you can. I used Fel pro gaskets. Do the valley pan while you're in there. If you were closer I'd give a hand.
Look in the stickies for setting the proper voltage for the fipl. I'd replace the tach sensor too just to make sure. My '91 had a tach that wouldn't read until the dash warmed up. The trans didn't act up, so it was just how the needle itself acted. Where in S Carolina? I'll be down there in a...
