i went to napa to get oil for doing an oil change on my truck, hopefully next week. i also had them test my batteries, the one tested good and the other one tested lower than it should therefore it should be replaced. hopefully the battiries can make it through this colder weekend we are so pose...

@Va_Mike its interesteing that you have had success with deka batteries cause I thought deka makes the interstate batteries but I could be wrong. Anyway, i know a guy that sells interstates at his shop so I think he would warranty them for me no questions asked, especially cause the batteries...
i got a pair of genuine interstate batteries for my truck in may of 2019, now less than a year and a half later they arent working as well, with it being fall here in PA we get some colder nights and the truck cranks real slow in the morning.

dont use that kind, the wires are not equal length, therefore one "bank" of GPs with heat up more than the other which isnt good, that guy on Ebay, st_dieselparts takes 6.0 harnesses and tries to make them work for IDIs. Classic Diesel Designs @Thewespaul has a glow plug harness for sale aswell...

@laserjock did you swap the extended cab windows like how Justin did on his Smogie truck, or is that a newer cab, i havent seen many people do that mod before.
@IDIBRONCO i try to be budget minded with stuff, and i did not want to let the opertunity pass me either. one of the advantages of doing it in Diesel Tech was that since my friends and i did the work labor was free and we had all the tools and a garage to work in
chilton book and the haynes book, haynes has all the truck info and clear instrucions, chilton has truck info and diesel engine info but the directions arent as clear, i have both books and they are helpful to have
in october of 2019 i bought the banks sidewinder turbo kit from a friend for $800 with everything there except for hardware. my friends and i rebuilt the turbo and installed it in diesel tech and it took way longer than i planned cause the only one that read the instructions that i printed out...
