    Drug another one home

1989 f350 7.3 5 speed. 127k on it. Rotted to hell. Bought it for drivetrain. Paid 500 bucks. Been parked since 2013 for rust. Took 45 mins to get it going. F250 did good towing it home. Axles, tcase and trans are going into the f250 along with a bunch of other small stuff. Got it torn down in 4...

    IDI head removal question

thats why these are called IDI engines. the fuel is injected into a pre combustion chamber. the fuel is indirectly injected. IDI. now a cummins or powerstroke, fuel is injected directly into the cyl. Direct injection. DI. lesson for today.

C6 to ZF6 swap whose done it?

yep. will need a pedal assy and clutch hydraulics from your generation truck, but the zf5 bolts right to a 6.9. also search for typ4 mod on the zf, if you cant find a diesel zf, the 460 one can be adapted to it with some drilling.

C6 to ZF6 swap whose done it?

ahh yes, i read wrong. the 6 isnt worth the trouble. only really gaining a low hole. and if you need a lower first, find a 460 zf5 and mod it to bolt up.

im 240 lbs. not really that light. the foam is fully surrounded bu the seat cover. the seat bottoms are actually removable. they just sit in there.

    Diesel compression tester

you wont find a MASTER kit that covers them all. for our engines they use the glow plug hole to test. cummins use the injector hole. your best bet is to just get a decent gauge, then the proper adapters you need. i saw your sig, but as i said you posted in the medium duty section, not the idi...

Water crossings-How deep is too deep ?

it is pretty much para cord strung under the seat bottom. no springs. just allows some movement to save your back some. the mud has already played with the ignition some. the keyswitch got really stiff. after some good cleaning its all good. i am more worried about the switch itself down on the...

Water crossings-How deep is too deep ?

i am a little cranky about my 700 dollar suspension seats getting ruined. but i can still buy new covers for them. but yea not much to mine. dash consists of aluminum diamond plate, with three gauges. temp, oil psi and pyro. factory headlight switch is still working and mounted there too. for...

    Axle swaps

you will want the f350 springs in front. along with shocks and brake lines ,trackbar and mount, front shaft, steering with pitman arm,and the rear 4 inch blocks. the rear you will need to find one from a newer truck as 86 will not have the speed sensor. also your truck has a long pinion...

Water crossings-How deep is too deep ?

dont know how, but both axles are BONE STOCK down to the factory ford hubs. i been abusing this thing for years now, never broke anything axle related. a few twisted driveshafts and an occasional u joint in the front shaft but thats it.
