    No oil pressure, round two

It wasn't there 4 weeks ago when I resealed the pan. And it isn't threaded, I looked close at that part. Its ribbed

    No oil pressure, round two

Ok let me rephrase it. I swapped the pump. I took the old pump completely apart. Locked gear in vice and with a large pipe wrench, tried to turn it. Nothing wrong with the pump, not even a single score mark on the gears

    No oil pressure, round two

I had it apart 4 weeks ago before I installed this engine. Resealed everything. Nothing was in the pan. We did swap oil coolers with a known good one, no change.

    No oil pressure, round two

ok, follow up to my other post a few weeks ago. Finally got time to drop the pan and check the pump. Oil pump is perfectly fine. Even took it apart to look at the gears, not a single mark on them. Now in the pan I found these plastic pieces. Hard plastic, they have a radius to them the same as...

    80w-90 or 85w-140 Which and Why ???

this^. synthestics will clean an engine quickly, taking away any dirt and sludge stuck around seals and gaskets. i wont vote above, as for me it depends on the truck. my tow pigs normally get the 75-140 syn in the rear and front. my off road truck gets the cheapest 80-90 available since it...

6.9L Liquid to Air Intercooler Install

Every service I would blow air through them to clean em. Most of the time they had a few leaves stuck on top. The put a pusher fan on the top side of them blowing down through it.

6.9L Liquid to Air Intercooler Install

Look up ACT a/c systems. And most a/c shops can make lines. Mine is going to be complete custom since my truck never had a/c

6.9L Liquid to Air Intercooler Install

mine being crew cab, i am planning on having custom lines made and mounting my condensor under the cab with its own dedicated fan on it. almost EVERY limo is done this way. they dont care where they are as long as there is air flow through them.

    extra cooling.

for a quick test, have any of you that are having the heat issues tried anything like water wetter or the like? or even a cup of downy fabric softener. i see big changes when i run water wetter in my derby cars(normally 15-20 degrees with straight water). once you learn what the water wetter...

    N/A IDI Turbo Conversion

then there are us odd ball lucky bastards who throw a turbo on a stock 6.9 with 200k on it, crank fuel up two flats and run it at 12 psi. yes it pushed coolant out externally at high RPM, but a bottle of Kseal fixed that right up. 6 years later that engine is still chugging along. turbo has...

Turbo sucking oil through the CDR?

all my turboed idi engines always had a little puddle of oil in the boot going into the turbo. my current 88 f250 will fog the shop at idle with the intake unhooked from the turbo. shes got some extra blowby but not worried about run away.

    Project Time Bandit

i wil place bets you have a mini pack on the front. the ex springs sit 2 inches lower than the trucks. common swap here is to put f350 springs in. gives it just a little height adjustment without compromising ride. makes them the same height as a f350

or wire the 3g up differently. i have no dash in my 86, alt charges 13.8-14.2, been like that for years now. triggered on with the key, sense wire comes off the starter solenoid.

Here is why you need the pitman arm, I just swapped mine today. Longer one is d60. They are 1/2-5/8 different in length.

    tuff country vs rough country

No that's the nice thing with the 6.5 kit, it lowers front and rear mounts, keeping pinion at the same angle and wheels centered in the fender. Only downside is you can see the front mount. I only had 33's on the truck in the photo, has 36's now.
