I was looking at new radiators online since I'm changing my core support put for tall narrow in the next month or so as my wide radiator is leaking and hard to find for a good price. How are the champion radiators I see online? I saw 2 row 3 and 4 row read a thread on here about it but anyone got any reviews on theirs? Not towing much or often but it does get hot in the summer and I sometimes go out east over the Rockies(long steep grades) I like the idea of the aluminium radiators and how they look but which ones gonna do what I need? I havent had any problems over heating with my current stock one even going over the mountains

I have had my champion for almost 10 years now. It still is working fine. I have run the GO5 coolant in it since day one. Some of the sca coolants do not have much aluminum protection in their formulas, which is ok with the stock brass radiator and heater core, but I wanted some aluminum protection in my coolant.

And it sure is lighter than the original. I bought the 2 row and it seems to cool fine once the fan was working correctly.

We stopped selling the american eagle ones. Too many comebacks.. i have put 3 in my truck in 5 years. They make you pay the shipping back. I had them send me a label as regular shipping a box that big was $204.00

Running a temp guage or factory by chance? Im leaning towards 2 or the 3 row. Wanting to keep cost down ive gotten up there in money I've put into my truck now lol but almost gotten to a point of basically rebuilding the whole thing so why stop now??

I have the Mishimoto replacement in mine, and it works really well. Granted when I took out the OEM radiator it was quite plugged, but the Mish was an overall improvement in cooling. Fit decently, and after a year zero issues. I stalked amazon and ebay for several weeks and managed to get it for about $350 shipped.

On the Champion, fit and finish is 'meh' and their packaging lends itself to shipping damage. That being said, I've been running a 4 row for years with no issues and a 3 row before that. I only upgraded for peace of mind.

With the sensor in the overtemp port, I typically see temps right at 195 give or take a couple, which is exactly what you would expect with a factory thermostat. Under a bit of load, she touches 200 empty. With maybe 1500lbs towing, I've seen up to 220s but then the fan clutch kicks in like it should.

Another issue with the radiators is the fitment of the transmission cooler lines if you have an auto and choose to use the one built in. From what I have read, adapters are required. Mine is a stick so it doesn't bother me.

I've got a 5speed so looks like this should be a good option, it's looking like I'm not gonna find one in my local salvage yards but I'm getting my core support here soon just waiting on payday, already spent my trucks allowance this month lol

My buddy mentioned them before, he used to get a discount there and he paid only like 40$ for a jeep radiator, I don't think mine can be re cored it rotteded from the inside out. I was also wanting tall skinny for easier intercooler routing as I hve the cooler and piping already but dislike how I would have to route the piping. know how their pricing is for a aluminium one? There was also a Craigslist core support in sweethome when I was searching Craigslist. Also has a pile of obs parts as well may I could get two birds with one stone it's only 30 minutes from me or less

I don't know their prices. When I bought my Mishimoto I didn't even think to check with them, and now wish I had. Probably would have resulted in buying an intercooler also though.

I am running a aftermarket gauge in the overtemp spot like someone else mentioned. I normally run about 200, and a hard pull in the summer I will see 220. It will go higher unless I drop down a gear and raise the rpms, and then it will come back down to 210-220 on a hard pull up the mountain. I have my fan mechanically locked though. I don't have to wait for the clutch to kick in.
