I already touched this subject in another post, which (helas) I can't retrieve anymore.

7.3, E4OD and IIRC, it has to do something with the brake light switch and trans controller? (all stock)
I can't find a blown fuse either.
The inspector pointed it out to me that the brake lights didn't work, while when I left home they did????
and it seems to be a ongoing issue for my truck.

You haven't given us much to go on as far as what you've checked so far.
I assume you checked that the lamps are good. I assume you checked that the sockets are clean and making good contact with the lamps.
There is a mechanical switch on your brake pedal. Check that it hasn't moved out of place.
Do you have trailer lights wiring? Sometimes those are installed with crappy splice connectors.

The problem with the brake lights, they are embedded and use the same wiring and bulbs as the rear turns. So when the brake lights do not work, do the rear signals both sides work? If they do, that means the bulbs and the wiring going to the rear are good. These all lead up to the turnsignal switch in the column.

So if the signals in the rear work, the next place to check is the green wires at the brakelight switch on the pedal. There should be power all the time on one wire, and you should have power on the other one when the pedal is pushed.

If that works, and the brake lights still do not work, then your problem is going to be in the turnsignal switch area.

Yep, That's fair enough,
Though I did mention that when I left all was OK.
Only thing I checked was the fuse, which is not blown.
Since this was a Wheeled Coach Ambulance conversion, I have amber indicators and red brakelights, that is taken care for at the brake light switch.
a part of that is Wheeled Coach wiring, and all that is in original nick as it left their premesis in the day.

As far as I remember it has to do with 1* or the electronic command box for the E4OD.
or 2* the warning lights.

Yesterday when I left for a 45minute drive to the inspection station I had the lights checked, and they were working.
Then (I assume somewhere along the way) they stopped working and the inspector noticed it, and mentioned to me before I left. (a repair issue)

That's all what comes to mind.

If you have separate amber turns, then ignore my post. Your truck has been re-wired, no one is going to be able to help you without knowing how the ambulance people wired it up. Did they simply cut the original green brake pedal switch wire going to the turn switch and run a new wire from the brake switch to the rear red lights? Do not know. But that is what I would do if I were converting to rear amber turns.

Hmmmm, something stupid has happened; this ride to the inspection station, was the first time since 5 or 6 years she was back on the road again, and I forgot more or less the way she behaves.
On it's way to the station, there are some speed bumps in the road, and they were much steeper than I remembered before, or was it to the much harder springs then I was used to lately?
Anyway, we were shaken hard when we hit those bumps, and I guess that in doing so the terminal on the brake switch came undone.
and since a Ambulance version has quite some extra wiring down there I didn't notice that in a glance. I'm sorry.
I "repaired" the problem. Thanks!
