After market chip in it? Mine was doing strange like shutting off going down the road ended up being a bad chip , put things bac to stock no more problems. Hate problems like that.
That is a lot of good information to have. I find it interesting on internal changes done to the engine the crankshaft was not one of them. Has always been my claim , externally balanced .
I have a 93 7.3 factory turbo. Have put 75 k on it never have had a headgsaket problem. IMO unless you are trying for a lot of boost and power , stock is fine. If one was pulling heads checking bearing and all I would think about reringing if cyls are good,
Although it has been a while since needed to install one, use to do it all the time when was rebuilding engines. I alway use to fill the groove with JB weld , let it dry then sand down. then install the sleeve.
