If you are replacing the starter consider getting the upgrade Powermaster 9050. This is a huge upgrade, especially over the crappy rebuilds you get with OEM style.

Well I think it is finally time I pulled my 7.3. My oil pan is rusty as hell and needs to be changed. The final straw though is a transmission leak; I don't know where the leak is but I suspect the pump seal, gasket, or torque converter.

Try reducing the bypass at the top of the fuel filter. That pump has lots of cap - most of the fuel is vented back to the tank.
You can test this by pinching the return hose (at the filter) and the walbro will slow down almost to a stop.
