Newer IP thats been sitting, not sending fuel to Injectors...
Evening everyone! sorry about the delay, busy over my head, anyways, finally got around to checking out my IP. Pulled the cover off, metering valve isn't stuck or sticky, but fuel has a green tint to it? Could that have anything to do with it, or anything else could prevent the pump from...- IDIDieselJohn

Nothing but pure diesel fuel has been run in it, I already tried the ATF and conditioner trick in the fuel filter, didn't do anything helpful. I been doing some reading up and it could be the fuel metering plate that's stuck? You have to remove the top cover of the pump and you can move by hand...- IDIDieselJohn

Its fixed!! I fired it up this morning, runs like a dream! Super smooth and healthy. Can't believe it was that one new defective lifter, witch still held pressure when pressing down on it. On a side note, I found my problem to my random loss of prime every now and then....the special thick...- IDIDieselJohn

I think I found the problem, when I removed the intake and valley pan, while observing everything inside, I turned over the motor, everything was operating normal down there, rocker arms all working properly.....but visually looking at the very last push rod, drivers side rear of motor, I...- IDIDieselJohn

Anyway of telling them apart without taking them apart? And I have compression numbers! front of engine ----^---- 310 300 300 290 300 300 410 310 Are those good numbers? Seems a tad low to me, however, no blow by and no oil consumption at all in this...- IDIDieselJohn

I still have all the old lifters and none of them show any signs of visual wear of any kind, other than the 3 that didn't hold any pressure. Forgot to mention in my post, this is a Ford Reman engine, that now has 219,000km (136k miles) if that makes any difference.- IDIDieselJohn

Hi everyone! I've got an interesting one for you today! on my '91 E250 Club Wagon 7.3 So late last year I had a miss fire and shake at idle, witch I determined it wasn't injector related, upon removing valve covers and pressing down on the rocker arms push rod side, I found I had 3 bad lifters...- IDIDieselJohn

anyone ever convert a van from automatic to manual trans?
Rare find, but nothing useful for you on it unless you want to put an IDI in a half ton van, witch is totally fine as well, but that's got the old RUG 4spd OD tranny, looks exactly the same as the old top loader mustang 4spd, but this one, 4th, is OD, and a very light duty transmission...- IDIDieselJohn

This would not be that bad of a project. You can get those aftermarket universal clutch pedal, make a mount for it beside the auto. brake pedal, bolt a master to the firewall, and run a hydraulic line to the slave. And the shifter would not be set back at all, it will come out thru the base end...- IDIDieselJohn

7.3 Eating oil
I've tried 3 treatments of Auto RX on my oil burning 6.9 I put in my F150. Burnt about 2 quarts per 400-500 miles, while it was on Auto RX it eventually reduced consumption to as little as 2-3 quarts between oil change intervals witch is normal for an IDI. As soon as I stopped using Auto RX...- IDIDieselJohn

UPDATE, So I took the drivers side valve cover off (real easy on non AC engine :D) and other than slight slugging found on the valve cover, nothing out of the normal, everything is tight, valve seals all look ok from what I can see through the springs.
