Use this as an excuse to stick a big home made bull bar on your bullnose. Something like what I have on my truck. Then you can hit stuff on purpose :backoff
Now if we're talking about suspension related parts that get abused I would say that the bump stops for the front axle take the cake lol.
In other flatbed related news, I cut one of the ladder rack crossmembers out because it was at waist level while standing in the bed which is no fun. Next...
I discovered that some how the flatbed is only a little bit heavier than the truck stock. Within 500lbs I think. I had 1500lbs of concrete in the back and my weight was like 8550lbs or so.

I work for enterprise truck and all of our trucks use wood between the frame and box like you mentioned; however i have also read about how wood can promote corrosion and expands/shrinks with humidity. not too sure about how exactly i am going to do this project, but i gotta start with the...

The idea is to have the flatbed ride on square tube frame that is attached at 6 points, four of which have the floating design. The mounts at the rear will be hard attached. The height of the mounts will accommodate the hump in the frame. Will probably sit kinda high, but that's ok because the...
Putting a flatbed on my truck. Gonna do a floating design so I don't crack the frame from being not able to flex in the right areas. If that makes sense
