    Pushrod out of alignment?

My my Kawasaki ninja dropped a valve at 16,000 rpm all it did was make a "pop" and then ran on 2 cylinders lol.

    Obliterated a deer..

Use this as an excuse to stick a big home made bull bar on your bullnose. Something like what I have on my truck. Then you can hit stuff on purpose :backoff

    Drilling into the frame?

Now if we're talking about suspension related parts that get abused I would say that the bump stops for the front axle take the cake lol. In other flatbed related news, I cut one of the ladder rack crossmembers out because it was at waist level while standing in the bed which is no fun. Next...

    Drilling into the frame?

What's the fun in having overload leaves (leafs?) if you never use them? :D

    Drilling into the frame?

I discovered that some how the flatbed is only a little bit heavier than the truck stock. Within 500lbs I think. I had 1500lbs of concrete in the back and my weight was like 8550lbs or so.

    Drilling into the frame?

Well, even parked on a 4x4 couldn't get a drop of fuel in lol. So I redid them.

    Drilling into the frame?

Not completely done yet, I still gotta do the lights, fuel fillers and wood floor, but all the hard work is done

    Drilling into the frame?

**UPDATE** Got it mounted, and I abandoned the original spring mount design cause I'm not very good at fabrication (my first couple channel cuts were with a sawsall) and decided to go with the simplest and cheapest setup, as shown in the pictures below. Only drilled 4 holes in the frame, the...

    Drilling into the frame?

I work for enterprise truck and all of our trucks use wood between the frame and box like you mentioned; however i have also read about how wood can promote corrosion and expands/shrinks with humidity. not too sure about how exactly i am going to do this project, but i gotta start with the...

    Drilling into the frame?

Yeah, she was sitting there eating chips.. but she does provide good moral support. This project is going to take awhile, but I'll make sure to keep you all informed on how it goes down!

    Drilling into the frame?

https://www.oilburners.net/threads/mounting-flat-bed.60081/ This is the thread that I've read and re-read yo get info from. And this pic is why I'd like to let the frame ride independent of the flatbed. As for noise, my zf5 will probably drown out any other noises LOL

    Drilling into the frame?

The idea is to have the flatbed ride on square tube frame that is attached at 6 points, four of which have the floating design. The mounts at the rear will be hard attached. The height of the mounts will accommodate the hump in the frame. Will probably sit kinda high, but that's ok because the...

    Drilling into the frame?

Putting a flatbed on my truck. Gonna do a floating design so I don't crack the frame from being not able to flex in the right areas. If that makes sense

    Drilling into the frame?

Thanks guys. Maybe I just did the thing where you worry way too much about something that is actually much more simple

    Drilling into the frame?

I also posted this on FTE, but I've read more about this subject on here so I thought I'd pick the knowledgeable brains here too: *long post warning* I had a question about drilling holes in parts of the frame for flatbed mounts. I know that it is ill-advised to drill into the horizontal part...

Any body in Oregon know about this truck?

Oh dang, guess i didn't look at the ad very closely.. Reminds me of an ad that i saw for a 2000 crew cab f-350 dually 7.3PS 4x4 all the bells and whistles truck with under 100k miles, and they were asking over $30,000 for it! similar situation too with it still having CA plates, but being sold...

Any body in Oregon know about this truck?

Wonder how well it's being treated out in happy valley.. from my experience our trucks work best when they are being worked hard haha

A truck tougher than Slave lake?

I like how these guys show just how tuff these trucks are. Makes me feel better when I work my truck hard because I'm still not as bad as these guys are to their trucks

What others parts can swap from a gasser

The only parts that dont change between instrument clusters for the '82-'86 trucks is the tach, and circuit paper in the back. might be different if the truck had the so called "idiot lights" instead of actual gauges.

    Mounting flat bed

Rather than start my own thread, i'd thought that i would bump this older thread. Do you guys have any updates as to how the bed mounting went, and any issues discovered? Also, info on the springs? I have a flat bed i am going to mount soon and i like the idea of not breaking my frame. And i...

    6.9 tach died

*UPDATE* turns out the fuse was bad, but looked good. However, the tach was erratic once the truck warmed up, so I swapped the sensor and the tach itself with used spares, which didn't fix it, but then I put the original sensor back in and it started to work again. So I don't know exactly what...

    6.9 tach died

I've been reading a bit and one thing people mention is a bad ground, where does the instrument cluster ground out?
  23. CaptBuffalo

    6.9 tach died

My tachometer has no reading at all, it might have happened after I was trying to find a blown fuse and was pulling them out, while the truck was running. I have switched out both the tach itself and the pickup sensor on the injection pump. I also followed the wires from the sensor to the...

TRAGEDY STRIKES. = NEED ANOTHER ANTIQUE F250 SUPER-CAB TRUCK

If the choice is between a 7th gen and an 8th (bull or brick nose) I pesonally would pick the bull. But imo it is more about style preference now. (Not including price, milage, colors, etc)
