    Just out of curiosity, do either one of you happen to know what the towing capacity is for a mid 80's 6.9? I've tried to find it but can't. And I agree, that trailer loaded would be a bit much for that truck, especially trying to get it to stop in a hurry.

I found one out of a 93 that was mated to a manual transmission but can't seem to find an answer if a c-6 will mate up to it. I would assume the back of the 6.9 and 7.3 were all the same...

    6.9 head repair

    One of the pre-cups came loose from the head and damaged the deck of the block, put about a quarter of an inch, half moon impression in it.     6.9 diesel motor for sale

    I'm looking for a 6.9 block but would certainly consider it in short block or long block form. Any idea how many miles were on it? Mine dropped a precup at 186k and damaged the top of the block of the block. I'm just outside of Knoxville, TN. so shipping might be an issue.

    Is the DB starter a gear reduction starter? I've read on this site that a gear reduction unit is a good upgrade for these trucks.
