Does this trailer look funky?

Looking at buying a trailer.. It's a tilt deck equipment trailer. I just noticed that in one of the pictures it looks like the axles are way far forward. Am I seeing things or is this normal? I don't know much about trailers but from what I do know the axles are usually centered or towards the rear....

Tough to tell with the picture, if it’s a good price I would go look at it and take some good measurements with a tape and make sure everything is straight

It's a 20' deck and 4' tongue. New tires and brakes for $3000 . Not sure how good of a deal it is but it sounds fair..

Yeah, looks goofy. I'm sure it was built like that for a reason. Maybe hauled something like a excavator. Put the machine over the axles and lay the boom down on the rear.
But you could probably move the axles.
Or go new and get rid of the mobile home axles. Lol

I Wouldn't bother with it. Definitely a custom built trailer, which usually leads to more headaches.

I passed on it. If the axles really are forward that far it would not work for what I plan on hauling. I don't really have the desire to move the axles back right now. So guess I'll keep looking. Thanks guys.

Where in Oregon are you? That looks my buddy's dads old trailer he got from CAT. It was old and used for equipment at one point, he modified it to be used on a regular truck and the trailer itself was extremely heavy without trailer brakes.

It's in Selma. I'm in the Applegate area. He said he used it for a portable saw mill.

Oh his trailer was in sweethome area last I knew but he moved and that was a few years ago last time I saw it but that just looks a lot like it idk if he sold it or left it he had a lot of stuff on his property

sorry I got back a little late. firstly, it's a custom built job.
does it have 14.5" wheels? the base axles are mobilehome axles. they can come with or without brakes.
check out this morphidite behind the Nostromo. looks pretty familiar eh?

I'm not sure on the wheel size , but he said it has new brakes on 2 of the axles . It also has permanent plates . Thanks for the info guys . I'm definitely going to hold out for a factory built trailer.

I feel like you should be able to find a better trailer for 3000, I don't know too much about them though
