3.55 dually?

So I am going to look at a truck and I am a little puzzled. It is a 1995 F350 crew cab, short bed, 4x4.

It shows axle "39" which is the 3.55 open differential, however the truck has dual rear wheels.

Could this have been a converted at some point? Maybe a bolt on using the stock axle?

Can I tell anything by looking at the door sticker as to the weight rating of the axles to tell if it was built as a dually?

3.55 geared pickup dually axles certainly did exist. i've owned a couple. great for mileage, no so great for towing heavy.

In 95 Ford didn't offer a 4x4 dually correct? So this would be some type of a conversion.

I am wondering if it could be a simple arrowcraft conversion where I could remove the extra wheel/spacer/fender and have a SRW truck?

Sounds like some serious, serious work has been done to that truck. I thought that Ford didn't offer a crew cab short box until '97, and I've NEVER heard of a short box dually being offered from the factory. And the 4x4 dually's didn't exist from the factory until the super duty's came along, unless it was a cab-and-chassis truck. But since this one has a bed, that's not the case. Easiest way to see if it's a conversion would be the dually fenders. If the box doesn't have a big cut-out for the tires, and the fenders look more like they were just bolted on to a standard bed, then it's a conversion truck.

it's a long bed. Originally a SRW as far as I can tell and then had an arrowcraft conversion installed.
