I have a 84 engine manual, 88 F-450 commercial cab and chassis supplement & an 87 aerostar/bronco II/ranger spec book that I'll sell if anyone's interested.

Sucks that it isn't for a 90. I guess I should hold out for my specific year?

Also I notice that set comes with engine manual, etc. How do those compare to the 2 ford tech service manuals that I already bought and many like so much and whats the difference?

The 2 you got should be 95% of the set he's talking about, just a different format.

The complete set is: (listed for 85, should be similar for most years)

A- Bronco/E/F body chassis & electrical
B- Bronco/E/F engine
C- All trucks pre delivery
D- F/B/C body, chassis & electrical
E- F/B/C engine
F- Ranger/Bronco II body, chassis, electrical, engine, pre delivery
HT- All trucks engine/emission diagnosis.

Added to this are:
-Wiring diagrams
-Electrical / vacuum troubleshooting
-Parts manuals
-Spec book.

What you got is volumes 'A' & 'B. 'C' is useless (how to prep the truck when it came off the car carrier new from the factory). 'D', 'E' & 'F' are useful for those models, but do nothing for a pickup. 'HT' is useful but is 95% gasser stuff, like how to troubleshoot OBD codes on a EEC-IV gasser. There's a bit for diesels, but it's not that useful. Things like a flow chart that tells you that a plugged air filter could cause black smoke. Some good info on the glow plug system, but then early system is not worth fixing, and the later doesn't really have any t/s - check the glow plugs & power supply and if they're good replace the module.

The spec book and vacuum t/s book are useful.

So bottom line you've got 95% of what you need in those 2 books, and the rest you can get from haynes (wiring diagrams & specs) or the forum.

THANKS alot for this detailed in depth response. So I guess im should be good and shouldn't worry about buying anything else besides maybe a haynes or chilton.

I would get the haynes pickup & diesel engine manuals. Don't even mess with Chiltons, it's worthless. Not even any good for emergency tp. cookoo

Haynes #36058 (80-96 ford) & 10330 (diesel)

36058 has good wiring diagrams. Both are nice cause they have most of the same info as the factory books so you can use them for working references and keep your factory books clean. Use the factory books for the bottom line reference and to check the haynes book, then use the haynes for the actual working copy. Just my $0.02 though. Maybe you work cleaner than I do.

Ill def do that lol.

I try to work clean but sometimes I feel uncomfortable using vinyl gloves, or having to change them a million times when they get dirty.

The garage I have to work in now is on a farm, and isn't the most fanciest or clean thing; hell it dont even have concrete. Ive tried my best by putting lots of plywood sheets down and covering it with carpet so its atleast decent to work in there but its nothing like I want to have.

Eventually when I move out, I will have a heated n ac garage and will be super nice and spotless. Until then I guess ill take your advice on using the haynes as the working ones ;Sweet

Yah, never managed to get gloves to work. They certainly keep your hands clean, but also work very well to get grease on *everything*. I just have 'shop clothes' and embrace the grease. Nothing says you love your truck like bathing in diesel weekly. LOL Gets you odd looks at work though. :D
