What's going on here?

A few times in the past...
I've purchased the power door lock actuator for my 1988 F250 from eBay.

Now...it's no longer listed for a 1988 F250...but they have it for a 1989...what gives?

Even Rock Auto... isn't listing it for a 1988, but viewed below they show it for a 1989 and up.
Same with eBay...not listed for 1988 F250???

It should be the same exact actuator...correct?

Wow. Do you know why they keep dieing?

By the way, the original question... Yeah, it seems like one of those sneaky ways to get rid of old vehicles... Just starve them for parts. Even if the parts are actually available...

They die because the aftermarket units are made in china and/or I constantly use my truck for a local driver...in-out-lock-unlock-repeat over and over-and over several times a day.
Also, sometimes moisture travels down the actuator rod into the motor.
So...I'm guessing, the 1988 actuator is the same as the 1989 actuator?

If it was the same in the past, it hasn't suddenly become different...

Should be the same. Parts like that usually don't change unless there is a major redesign of where they are used. If it was me, I'd buy it.

That's why the power locks on my crew cab don't work. I'm constantly bumping the switch with my knee and I really need all four. One or two wouldn't be bad but man that adds up fast. I can deal with turning a key at that price lol!

That's what I tend to believe, the same exact actuator fits several years and applications...but WHY delete a 1988 F250 from the list???
eBay $17.00 worst case it's a paper weight.

There's no rime or reason as to why these companies do this. I guess they are just trying to get is out of these old rigs by limiting what parts we can find to keep them going..

Just ordered the actuator for a 1989 F250 extended cab...even though my truck is a 1988.
