Last year my buddy found an 88 7.3 ZF 5-speed F-250 4x4 with A/C for a whopping $4,000! It still had the plastic on the seat and the day the old man bought it he took the center caps off so they're mint!

Similar to the '83 F-250 I just sold. Mine had 45,000 original miles. The engine is supposed to be gray (I had an '81, '83, and '86 300). Someone has messed with that.

I saw some grease pencil in one shot, so maybe it has been messed with, but still....If I had 9 grand, I'd be making a trip to get that thing...

That's not in original "barn find" condition. It's a restoration. A great restoration, but that guy didn't pull it out of a barn and just give it a wash and wax.LOL

Heath

Heath beat me to it, they used the wrong color paint is some areas, and the wrong undercoating. Plus they just put the undercoating over the rust.

Yep. Definitely saw where he painted over some surface rust spots on the cab corners and fenders. Good resto but not barn find perfect. Definitely not worth the $10000 the auction is up to.

I know it's jsut our natural tendency to pick stuff apart, but I don't see any signs of painting over rust. Sure they painted the undercoating. When I bought my truck, it had the same treatment. It lasted 5 years.

I think engine color changed with the plant the truck was built in? I remember seeing different colored engines on Candian build rigs, than the ones built in Kansas.
