Forgive my ignorance, but what is the purpose of putting a flange in place between the head and the manifold?

I'm going to be pulling my exhaust manifolds to address a leak at some point; is adding a flange worth doing?

Always wanting to learn something new...thanks! ;Sweet I will say that they look mighty purdy :D

The flanges will have header pipes welded to them to replace the stock manifold. If done correctly, they should flow better and help make more power. Or just look cool. I'll also be making my own crossover pipe to hook into the Banks up-pipe. Maybe wrap it up and see if there's any improvement.

Very cool Jason! We should have some more folks with custom turbo headers soon eh (Eric is the only one I know of currently).
