There are a lot of medium duty trucks that use that tire. They used your trash cans to load your tools. Look over all your penetrating oil, additives, grease, etc (the stuff you couldn't imagine them taking) before the police arrive so you have a detailed list.

There have been a lot of guys here hit in the last few months. Just a suggestion, but it'd be nice if we could sticky one of these threads with some suggestions from some of the more experienced members in protecting and retrieving items. Just to help everyone be aware.

You seem like a hell of a go-getter Chris. I'm hopeful to meet you someday and take a gander at your project. I'm sorry to here of your loss. You've got a family there and everyone is ok. That's a blessing.

thanks, when i know i'll post it up.

The weird thing is what they took. Everything from the second drawer down on the roll around, but didn't touch the top where all the sockets were. the space heater, but left the kerosene. The port-a-power kit, but not the pump or hose. plasma torch, but left the tips. The milling collets, but left the tooling. All the air tools, but left the extensions... crap like that. Is that normal? They did try to get the four jaw chuck out, but i guess it was to heavy for them, ******** left it laying on the ways of the lathe.

Off with there heads....

The hell with their heads. I want them alive. Something in the way of a blow torch and a pair of pliers would work much better. Real sorry about this Chris. Does this mean we need to establish a night watch for the IDI Weekend?

That definitely looks like the tire. And I was gonna say commercial truck, F450-550, Dodge 3500HD, Chevy 3500HD. Seriously be looking at commercial vehicles. Wouldn't be the first time a company has gone out and stolen stuff from another company before. You wouldn't by chance have any enemies in the professional world would you?

If you do a keyword search on truckpaper.com for 19.5 you get almost every truck manufacturer. Those are common tires on delivery trucks, rollbacks, box trucks, wreckers, etc. Could have even been a rental. It does narrow down the fact that it wasn't a light truck or car.

Without checking I'd say you're right around 8 hours from me, which is pretty close in my opinion...and probably the closest any rally will ever be. This year I've got other plans though. I've thought that with the number of people in MN IL NE IA WI, we should plan a mini rally at some point.

We just put a set of those tires on the back of our F800 Flatbed truck a couple months ago.

They make those tires from 19.5 clear up to 22.5, so it's definitely a commercial tire. I'd say they used a good size truck though, from the sound of it. Depending on the width of that track it could be something like an F450 or it could have even been a bigger box truck.

That sounds like a score someone plans on selling....The up side is if you have the serial numbers the police will record them, and if they show up at a pawn shop you may be able to get them back....Had it happen about 6 months ago...trailer full of tools was pulled about a quarter mile from the job site and emptied, fortunatly I had photos of the serial numbers of all of them...He made the mistake of selling one of the jackhammers; within a week I had about 90% of my stuff back. Was still pissed, just not as broke.

Sorry for your loss...it does suck

Chris, you ought to outline what was stolen in as much detail as possible, so everyone here can keep there eyes out on ebay or what not.

no, the shop is the next county over, on a dead end road, out in "bfe". someone knew what they were after.

Seriously be looking at commercial vehicles. You wouldn't by chance have any enemies in the professional world would you?

who me????? :D

This year I've got other plans though. I've thought that with the number of people in MN IL NE IA WI, we should plan a mini rally at some point.

i know Darrin(wink, wink, nudge, nudge) has hosted a little get together once or twice in the fall.

i'm working on one. i had to work last night, slept today, have prior engagements tonight. so i'm hopeful that i'll have a list compiled over the weekend.
