After two weeks of convincing, I actually had my wife on board with the idea of taking the truck up to the snow for christmas (out here in Ca, we have to go looking for snow) But, she actually agreed with me last friday to take it! cookoo

I was so excited to drive my truck up Hwy. 50 to Lake Tahoe, then yesterday she did the ole' bait and switch on me... "Why don't we take your truck up there some other time, you know, after you get some tires for it"
-cuss

WOMEN! HA! So, the question... How do you get your wife to wanna ride in the truck with you? Is it even possible??

Since I will be away from the computer for the next few days, I will be without my OB.net fix, and will most certainly be having withdrawls. Merry Christmas to all!!!

Sorry man, she will likely never like it. My wife tolerates my IDI diesel obsession, but if there is ever an option not to take my truck, she will choose that option.

At the Rally this year (we hosted by the way). I wanted her to drive one of my IDI's, but NOPE. She wanted her GMC Denali and so I had Dad drive my Crew Cab IDI to the Rally for me.:dunno

It is what it is.........

I did manage to talk her into an IDI (Kabota) diesel Grasshopper lawn mower this summer. She actually loves it, but hates the idea of me trying to turbo charge it (I don't know why:rotflmao). But, the truck, it will always be a big, noisey, stinky, dripping annoyance in the driveway.LOL

My wife loves to look at my trucks but she don't like being in them unless she can go out in town by herself and be the hot chick in the big 4x4. I don't blame her, thats the whole reason I have em.

Wife 1.0

My wife does not like my truck one bit. She drives a 2009 subaru. (I also have a 2006 Subaru ) The truck is for me and I love it. She will be really happy when I buy myself a set of weld rims w/ 35's for my Birthday in January.

I don't have that problem...... My lady would rather I drive the car and leave her the truck. She loves the truck. The only time she wants me to drive the truck is if the road conditions are bad, or she needs to go somewhere the parking is not truck friendly. I like driving the truck to work, but it is really tight in the parking garage..... I would rather have the car then.........

Vicki don't mind driving in my pickup with me. It's big, noisy, stinks of diesel fuel....but she says she loves it because it sounds beefy and will go ANYWHERES in a snow storm. I think she likes looking out the windows and looking down on cars and some pickups lol. She used to come plowing with me at about 2 am when I went out to do my driveways.

She's is definitly a country boy's gal for sure. I don't know of many wives/girlfriends that can drive a 400 cummins and a 13 over.....unassisted lol. She loves comin in the big rig with me when she has time off.

oddly I expected my wife to hate my 86 (its the dd, then a have a few others to tinker with)...it needs paint and some interior love, but it runs damn good...my wife drives (and loves) my heavily modded caddy seville, but when we go somplace with the kids (2 car seats) she always wants to take the truck so she can fit between them in the back and I dont have to eat the dash.

The good news is she cant drive a stick and is afraid to learn (and I am not about to tell her this is the ideal combo to learn on)

My wife hated the Moose Truck early on, because "I spent more time with it than I did her" or so she said. Maybe because I spent more money on it then her too. :dunno But as time went on, it became less of a threat to her, and now she has her own truck and loves them all, so yes it's possible.

Mine likes it, she just doesnt care to drive when packing the camper, white knuckles the whole way, and she is a great driver.

If they dont like it leave her home.

I have a buddy with a ratty old truck yes an IDI, and the only time his SO likes it is when she wants him to haul something for her or her snooty friends, I bet this relation doesnt last.:D

Here is a pic of mine painting the front suspension after rebuild. Not her best pic but if there is something to do she will dive in and help, hates standing around.
