How do I tell what front axle I have in my truck? I need the weight rating of the front Dana 50 TTB so I can buy the right ball joints for her. 1993 F250 ext cab long box diesel automatic 4x4.

The door sticker on my truck says 4410lb. I have a dana 50. I believe that a 44 would be a 3800lb rating.

Never seen an extended cab that didn't have the Dana 50. The 44's were only on standard cab trucks.

So just to sum up lol...the front axle in my truck would be the 4600 pound rating? My ball joints are bad and I can't afford the good ones where it is so clost to christmas...I want to put these in it for now until I do the Dana 60 swap.

The lower part number is the right one, but that upper number does not exsist in the federal mogul (moog) catalog. Should be a k80026. Don't know what to tell you on that one. Unless it is a older part number. Seems new numbers are 5 digit, old is 4 digit.

From what I gather Googling, and doing some poking and prodding from the parts guys, the K8388 IS the K80026, just under a different part number like you said in the last post Jake S. I don't want to sink a ton of cash into this front end because she is getting a dana 60 after the winter. Are Moog parts generally good? I don't think I've dealt with their gear before.

Moog is top of the line.
I just did my ball joints and tie rod ends and Moogs were like twice as much as NAPA.
The Dana 50 with 4.10 gears uses a different tie rod end than the others

Moog is on the upper end of the scale. If you want cheaper go with an off brand. Rock auto has some of the best prices you can get.

So the ones on ebay that you just bought are the same ones that I would need right? Dana 50?

From the information I gathered on the part numbers, those are what you need to replace the ball joints on a Dana 50.

The K8388 IS the K80026, just under a different new part number.

Well oriellys wants $25 for each upper and $20 for each lower. So $90 to have it today or $60 for the same parts, but a week away. If you are in no hurry, you save $30.

FWIW, the uppers are the same no matter which axle you have, even the D60 uses the same upper as an F150. It's only the lowers that differ.
We won't mention what it cost me to do the BJ's in the D60 under my 460 truck, but, it was ALOT more than any of the prices mentioned... Unfortunatley local and in stock = very expensive for me.
