I pulled my motor out two days ago to refresh my gaskets and found one of my motor mounts was deteriorating pretty badly. I had a P/S leak from a bad o-ring when I put in my red head steering box and evidently the fluid ate it up pretty good. Long story short I was looking for a good set of motor mounts for my 7.3 idi. Searching on this forum and others there was no really good after market options available and my local dealer said the motor mounts were no longer available. I called a dealer that was a little farther out because they had the factory water pump in stock and they told me they would check their data base at a company who only deals with discontinued ford parts. They had the originals in stock (they were $75.00 a piece with shipping). Just wanted to give those in search of the factory parts a possible option. Ask you local Ford dealer about this and hopefully you will be able to find that part you need. I will post the name of the parts service when I pick up the parts should be mid next week.

I was able to find a set on eBay after keeping the search open for a while. Patience is your friend. Just set a search for the Ford part #s. I found a set of cab mounts this way too, one by one. Had to have faith they would a show up and they did. Still looking for a trans mount for the 96 and a few other tidbits.

My local ford dealer wont even talk to you if your truck is over 10 years old.

A certain Ford dealer in a city is crap for customer service in the parts/service department. They just eyeballed an E150 I had with the hood up and said I needed a new engine for a coolant leak in a metal line. I took it elsewhere and had it fixed for about $300.

For the same E150's recall, they said they didn't have the parts and didn't know when they'd get them. They had zero interest in helping from their tone. I called one 20 miles away in a smaller city and they were able to do the work the next day.

The first dealer I mentioned wanted $125+programming (10 years ago) for a transponder key for a 2003 Taurus. The second dealer charged $50 including program for a genuine Ford key. I had them cut a door only key for $5 more.

I had WAY worse service from a GM dealer for Takata airbag recall work on a Pontiac Vibe than I did for routine coolant flushing at a Toyota dealer, being a Corolla engine. I couldn't get a Toyota dealer to do the recall work since it was badged as GM, not Toyota, or I would have.

Energy suspension makes poly bushings available for everything in our trucks, they are stronger and last much longer than the oem units.

Cool. They have the sway bar ones for my RV. What's the difference between the red and black ones, besides the color and price? They must an awful lot of different ones too, 4 different kinds it seems. Maybe the Crapazon catalog isn't filtering properly...

has a lot of old parts and will even talk to you if you cannot find what you want doing an online search through their inventory. They do not have everything, but it is another place to look as our parts grow more difficult to find. It helps a lot to know the part numbers.
