I'm looking at a 1996 F250 that a local commercial fram has for sale. They are asking $4995 for it. It's got a 7.3 auto, std cab. I don't know how many miles on it. I think it was used as one of their service trucks.

I was woundering what I should be on the look out for?
I'm looking to use the truck as a work and tow rig.
I'm tried of 10mpg from my gas truck I have now.

Thanks

look it over top and bottom. Drive it, see how well it shifts, try out the 4wheel drive make sure everything works and find out what doesn't. Try looking at it early(cold weather) and see how well it starts. Check the oil, coolant, and trans fluid. Just the usual stuff.

That's good money to be asking for a service truck. I'd look it over very carefully.
